Monitor every client site's CMS version, PHP version, and plugin/theme updates from one dashboard — no more logging into each site.

== Description ==

Agency Command Post (or just "Command Post") is built for agencies and freelancers managing more than one WordPress site. Instead of logging into each client site to check for updates, install this plugin once and see everything from a single dashboard at [agencycommandpost.com](https://agencycommandpost.com).

**This plugin requires a free Command Post account.** Sign up, add a site, and you'll get an API key to paste into the plugin's settings page. The free plan covers up to 5 sites.

= What it does =

* Reports your WordPress version and PHP version
* Reports every installed plugin and theme — name, version, active status, and whether an update is available
* Sends this report automatically, once per hour, via WordPress's built-in cron
* Lets you trigger a manual report at any time from the plugin's settings page

= What it doesn't do =

Command Post never accesses your site's content, database, users, or visitor data. It only reports the software inventory listed above — nothing else ever leaves your site.

= Why use it =

* See PHP end-of-life warnings before they become emergencies
* Spot outdated or inactive-but-vulnerable plugins across every client site at once
* Stop context-switching between a dozen wp-admin logins just to check for updates

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin through **Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin**, or upload the `agency-command-post` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`.
2. Activate the plugin through the **Plugins** menu in WordPress.
3. Go to **Settings > Command Post**.
4. Sign up for a free account at [agencycommandpost.com](https://agencycommandpost.com) if you haven't already, add this site, and copy its API key.
5. Paste the API key into the settings page and save. The site will report in automatically within the hour, or click **Send ping now** to report immediately.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need a Command Post account to use this plugin? =

Yes. The plugin itself is free to install, but it needs an API key from a Command Post account (also free, up to 5 sites) to know where to send reports and which dashboard to show them in.

= What data does this plugin send, and where? =

It sends your WordPress version, PHP version, and a list of installed plugins/themes (name, version, active status, update availability) to agencycommandpost.com over HTTPS, once per hour. See the full [Privacy Policy](https://agencycommandpost.com/privacy) for details.

= Does this slow down my site? =

No. Reporting happens via WP-Cron in the background, not on visitor page loads.

= Can I change how often it reports? =

Not currently — it's fixed at once per hour via `wp_schedule_event`. You can always trigger an immediate report manually from the settings page.

= What happens if I uninstall the plugin? =

Your API key and any stored plugin options are deleted from your database, and the scheduled cron event is cleared.

== Changelog ==

= 1.0.1 =
* Directory compliance: removed duplicate compatibility header from the main plugin file.

= 1.0.0 =
* Initial public release.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to **Command Post** (agencycommandpost.com), a service operated by the same company that publishes this plugin, to provide the site-monitoring dashboard this plugin exists for.

Once you enter an API key (obtained from your free Command Post account), the plugin sends the following to `https://agencycommandpost.com/api/ping` once per hour via WordPress's built-in cron, and also when you click "Send ping now":

* Your site's API key (identifies which Command Post account/site the report belongs to)
* Your WordPress version and PHP version
* The name, version, active status, and update availability of every installed plugin and theme

No page content, visitor data, or user data is ever collected or sent. If no API key is configured, the plugin makes no external requests at all.

See the [Command Post Privacy Policy](https://agencycommandpost.com/privacy) for details on how this data is used and retained.
