AI background remover for your Media Library. Remove backgrounds in bulk, including WooCommerce product photos. 10 free images, no subscription.

== Description ==

BGMagician connects your WordPress Media Library to the BGMagician
background-removal service. Select one or many images and remove their
backgrounds without leaving the Media Library.

* Bulk-select images in the Media Library list view and choose "Remove
  background (BGMagician)" from the bulk actions dropdown.
* Or remove a single image's background via its row action.
* Choose how results are saved: as new Media Library attachments (originals
  untouched), or replacing the original in place - handy for WooCommerce,
  since a product's featured image/gallery keeps working automatically
  with no re-linking. A one-level backup is kept and restorable via a
  "Restore original" row action.
* Configure default processing options (white background, aspect ratio,
  auto-crop) once in Settings > BGMagician.
* See your remaining BGMagician credit balance right in the Media Library.

Getting started takes one click: Settings > BGMagician > "Connect to
BGMagician" signs you in with Google, creates your free account if you don't
have one (your first 10 images are free, no credit card) and connects this
site. After that, buy credits once and use them whenever you like - no
subscription.

== External services ==

This plugin uses the BGMagician background-removal service
(https://bgmagician.com), operated by Masztech LLC. It is required: the
background removal itself happens on BGMagician's servers.

* When you click "Connect to BGMagician", your browser is sent to
  bgmagician.com to sign in, and this site exchanges a one-time code for an
  API key, which is stored in your WordPress options.
* When you remove backgrounds, the selected images are uploaded to
  BGMagician with your processing options, and the finished images are
  downloaded back into your Media Library.
* The Settings page and Media Library check your credit balance with your
  API key.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Is there a subscription? =

No. Every account starts with 10 free images. After that you buy a credit
pack once and use it whenever you like; credits stay valid for a year.

= What happens when I run out of credits? =

Nothing is charged for a batch you don't have enough credits for. BGMagician
tells you how many credits you have left and links straight to buying more.

= Does this modify my original images? =

Only if you choose "Replace the original in place" in Settings > BGMagician
(default is "Save as a new attachment", which never touches originals).
Replace mode keeps one backup per image, restorable via the "Restore
original" row action in Media Library.

= What happens if I delete the plugin? =

Its settings and processing-status data are removed. Backups of originals
made by "Replace the original in place" are kept, so you never lose an
original photo; restore any you need before deleting.

= What image formats are supported? =

JPEG, PNG, and WEBP, up to 25MB each.

= How many images can I process at once? =

Up to 40 per batch from the UI; selecting more automatically splits the
work into sequential batches.
