Swiss consent management: add your Biskoui cookie banner to WordPress without touching any code.

== Description ==

Biskoui is a Swiss consent management platform that helps you comply with the Swiss nFADP and the European GDPR. This plugin adds the Biskoui consent banner to your WordPress site: enter your domain's integration key on the Biskoui settings page and the banner is loaded on every page, with no code to copy or theme file to edit.

= What this plugin does =

* Adds your Biskoui consent banner to every page of your site from a single integration key.
* Loads the banner script asynchronously, in the page head, so it appears before your visitors interact with the page.
* Removes Twemoji in one click, so WordPress stops loading emoji from a server in the United States.

= What the Biskoui service offers =

* Consent banner compliant with nFADP (Switzerland) and GDPR (Europe), depending on your plan.
* Up to 20 banner languages depending on your plan, including German, French, Italian, Romansh and English.
* Consent log you can consult online and export as CSV, with the data stored in Switzerland.
* Developed and hosted in Switzerland, on a Swiss cloud certified ISO 27001.
* Free cookie policy generator that lists the cookies of the services used on your site.
* Google Consent Mode v2 support, in both Basic and Advanced mode.
* Google Tag Manager integration, triggering events when your visitors give consent.
* Banner customization to match your branding: colours, button shapes, fonts and more.
* WCAG 2.1 level AA accessibility, in line with the Swiss eCH-0059 standard, on all plans.

= Removing Twemoji =

The settings page also offers an option to stop WordPress from loading Twemoji. By default, WordPress loads this third-party emoji library from a server located in the United States, which sends your visitors' IP addresses to the United States. This option works on its own and does not require a Biskoui account.

= External service =

This plugin relies on the Biskoui service, a third-party service operated by Biskoui (https://biskoui.ch/). When an integration key is configured, every page of your site loads the Biskoui SDK from https://static.biskoui.ch/sdk.js, and your integration key is passed to it. Visitors' browsers then communicate with Biskoui to display the consent banner and record consent choices.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the `biskoui` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install the plugin from the WordPress plugin directory.
2. Activate the plugin from the Plugins menu.
3. Open the Biskoui menu and enter your domain's integration key.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need a Biskoui account? =

Yes. The banner is served by the Biskoui service, so you need an account and an integration key for your domain. Accounts can be created for free at https://admin.biskoui.ch/register

= Which plans include the WordPress plugin? =

The WordPress plugin is available from the BASIC plan onwards. If your account is on the free plan, the settings will save but no banner appears on your site.

= Where do I find my integration key? =

Log in at https://admin.biskoui.ch and open Dashboard, then "Install banner". The full guide is at https://biskoui.ch/en/blog/biskoui-installation-guide-via-wordpress-plugin/

= Does it work with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager? =

Yes. Biskoui supports Google Consent Mode v2 in Basic and Advanced mode, and triggers Google Tag Manager events when visitors give consent. Services are configured in your Biskoui account, not in this plugin.

= Can I use the Twemoji option without a Biskoui account? =

Yes. That option only changes how WordPress loads emoji on your own site and works whether or not an integration key is set.
