How to use the blippr plugin

Generally, you can simply write an article, and blippr will inject the appropriate content. There are a few things to keep in mind:

Obviously, the title is the title to search for, and the ID is a blippr ID (which is obtainable via a title's URL on blippr).

Finally, if you just want to put a blippr smiley next to a non-linked name in a post, you can use the following syntax:
[blippr]Facebook[/blippr].

That will append a smiley after the word "Facebook" in the post.

Caching and modifications

By default, there is a fairly aggressive caching layer in place to ensure that blogs that host the blippr plugin remain fast. However, when you save a post, a new copy of the post is cached with the blippr content inlined. Thus, assume the following scenario:

  1. You write a post, which contains a link to "Super App".
  2. You note that "Super App" does not have a smiley (as it does not exist in blippr's database)
  3. You add Super App to blippr
  4. Super App doesn't automatically get a smiley next to it because of the caching

At this point, you will want to go back into the Dashboard and re-save your post. This will cause Wordpress to pull a fresh copy of the content from blippr, including the new Super App node.

Adding apps from Wordpress

The blippr plugin contains a tool to help you add applications directly to blippr. In the blippr box, click "New App", fill out the requested fields, and submit it. The app will be added, and a shortcode tag will automatically be inserted into your post-in-progress.

Please note that this functionality may not work until blippr credentials are configured in the blippr plugin. I think this still needs to be done.
