Recover abandoned carts, add a fast AJAX side cart, offer checkout order bumps, and understand WooCommerce conversion performance.

== Description ==

= Recover More WooCommerce Sales Without Stacking Multiple Plugins =

[CartLane](https://cartlane.tophivetheme.com/) is a performance-focused WooCommerce conversion toolkit for store owners who want to recover abandoned carts, increase average order value, and create a smoother shopping experience.

Instead of installing separate plugins for a side cart, checkout enhancements, order bumps, abandoned cart recovery, and conversion reporting, CartLane brings these workflows together inside one unified admin experience.

CartLane Free includes:

* AJAX side cart with quantity controls, coupon support, and live totals
* Free-shipping progress messaging
* Checkout trust signals and urgency controls
* One active checkout order bump
* Automated abandoned-cart recovery workflows
* Restore-cart links for recovery emails
* WooCommerce revenue and conversion analytics
* Recent privacy-safe analytics activity
* HPOS compatibility
* Conditional frontend asset loading

No coding is required. Enable the modules you need, configure them from the CartLane dashboard, and keep the rest switched off.

For setup guides and feature documentation, visit the [CartLane documentation](https://cartlane.tophivetheme.com/docs/).

= Why Store Owners Use CartLane =

Every unfinished checkout represents potential revenue left behind. CartLane helps you address the most common conversion leaks around the cart and checkout journey:

* Recover shoppers who leave after entering their email address
* Encourage larger carts with relevant checkout offers
* Let customers update their cart without disruptive page reloads
* Reinforce trust and urgency at checkout
* Understand revenue, offer acceptance, recovery activity, and conversion trends

= AJAX Side Cart for WooCommerce =

Give customers a faster way to review and update their cart without leaving the page they are browsing.

* Slide-out AJAX cart drawer
* Increase, decrease, or remove cart items without a full page reload
* Apply and remove coupon codes inside the drawer
* Live subtotal, discount, shipping, and total updates
* Free-shipping goal and progress messaging
* Responsive layout for desktop, tablet, and mobile
* Accessible controls, labels, and keyboard behavior
* Store-page visibility controls

= Checkout Optimization =

Reduce friction and add confidence-building elements around the WooCommerce checkout.

* Checkout behavior and presentation controls
* Trust badge rows
* Countdown and urgency messaging
* Configurable accent presets
* Cleaner customer-facing checkout presentation
* Compatibility with supported classic and block-based WooCommerce flows

= WooCommerce Order Bumps =

Present a complementary offer during checkout and let customers add it to their order with one click.

* One active order bump in CartLane Free
* AJAX add-to-order interaction
* Product, category, and cart-condition targeting
* Classic, Highlight, and Minimal templates
* Configurable content order, colors, labels, and timer behavior
* Offer impression, acceptance, paid-conversion, and revenue reporting

= Abandoned Cart Recovery =

Automatically follow up with shoppers who begin checkout but do not complete their purchase.

* Capture eligible guest and registered-customer cart sessions
* Configurable recovery email sequence
* Secure restore-cart links
* Email preview and test-email workflow
* Manual resend controls
* Cart status, customer, product, date, and recovery information
* Recovered-order and recovered-revenue attribution
* Unsubscribe handling and scheduled cleanup

Recovery email delivery depends on your WordPress email configuration. For reliable production delivery, use a properly configured transactional email or SMTP provider.

= Analytics and Conversion Activity =

Use the built-in reporting tools to understand what is happening across your store.

* Store revenue and order summaries
* Average order value and conversion signals
* Order-bump performance
* Abandoned-cart and recovered-revenue reporting
* Recent privacy-safe conversion activity
* 7, 30, and 90-day reporting periods
* Bounded analytics queries and versioned report caching

Advanced revenue intelligence, complete event history, customer segmentation, investigation tools, advanced filters, and exports are available through CartLane Pro.

CartLane stores its operational and analytics records in your WordPress database. The free plugin does not require an external analytics SaaS account.

= Built for Performance =

CartLane is designed to load only what each experience needs.

* Vanilla JavaScript storefront runtime with no CartLane jQuery dependency
* Conditional CSS and JavaScript loading
* Route-based admin bundles
* Modern React-powered WordPress admin application
* Enforced production bundle budgets
* Dedicated database tables for CartLane workflows
* High-Performance Order Storage compatibility

Actual performance depends on your theme, hosting, WooCommerce configuration, product catalog, and other active plugins.

= CartLane Pro =

CartLane Pro extends the free plugin inside the same CartLane interface. Depending on the installed Pro version and active entitlement, Pro modules include:

* Visual funnel workflows
* Post-purchase upsells
* A/B testing
* Dynamic pricing and BOGO campaigns
* Role-based and quantity-based pricing
* Unlimited active order bumps
* Extended reporting ranges
* Advanced revenue intelligence and forecasting
* Customer segmentation and event investigation
* Advanced filters, complete history, and exports
* Advanced recommendations and revenue workflows

CartLane Pro requires the free CartLane plugin. Free features continue to work without a Pro license.

= Compatibility =

CartLane is built for WooCommerce and follows standard WordPress integration patterns.

* WordPress 6.3 or newer
* PHP 8.0 or newer
* WooCommerce 7.0 or newer
* Tested with WooCommerce up to the version declared above
* WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage
* Common WordPress themes and page builders that preserve standard WooCommerce hooks
* Standard WooCommerce payment flows

Because themes, checkout customizations, and payment extensions can alter WooCommerce markup and behavior, test conversion features on a staging site before enabling them on a live store.

= Privacy and Store Data =

CartLane Free processes cart, checkout, order, recovery, and analytics data on your WordPress site to provide its features. Depending on the modules you enable, this may include customer contact details entered during checkout, cart contents, order references, campaign activity, visit/session identifiers, and recovery events.

Store owners are responsible for configuring appropriate privacy disclosures, consent flows, retention settings, and email practices for their jurisdiction and business.

= Developer Information =

CartLane includes a namespaced REST API and WordPress hooks used by its admin and storefront modules. Human-readable source archives and build instructions for released Free versions are available from the public source page linked near the end of this readme.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= 1. What exactly is CartLane? =

CartLane combines an AJAX side cart, checkout optimization controls, one free order bump, abandoned-cart recovery, and conversion analytics for WooCommerce.

= Can CartLane recover abandoned carts automatically? =

Yes. When an eligible shopper enters an email address and leaves without completing checkout, CartLane can retain the cart session and process your configured recovery sequence. Recovery emails include a secure link that restores the saved cart.

= Does abandoned-cart recovery work for guest customers? =

CartLane can capture eligible guest checkout sessions after the shopper provides the information required by the recovery workflow. Your theme, checkout implementation, consent requirements, caching, and security configuration can affect capture behavior, so test it on your store.

= Can I send a test recovery email? =

Yes. The Abandoned Cart interface includes email preview and test-email controls. Successful delivery still depends on your WordPress mail configuration.

= Does CartLane include an AJAX side cart? =

Yes. Customers can review items, update quantities, remove products, apply coupons, and see recalculated totals in a slide-out cart without a standard full-page cart refresh.

= Does CartLane replace the WooCommerce cart page? =

The Side Cart can reduce the need to visit the traditional cart page, but CartLane does not remove WooCommerce core pages. Your store can continue to use its normal cart and checkout URLs.

= How many order bumps are included for free? =

CartLane Free supports one active order bump. CartLane Pro unlocks additional order-bump capacity and advanced conversion modules.

= What is a WooCommerce order bump? =

An order bump is a relevant product offer presented during checkout. The customer can add the offered product to the current order without leaving checkout.

= Can I target an order bump? =

Yes. Available conditions include product, category, and cart-based targeting. Review the editor in your installed version for the complete set of available conditions.

= Is CartLane compatible with WooCommerce HPOS? =

Yes. CartLane declares and implements compatibility with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage.

= Does CartLane support WooCommerce Checkout Blocks? =

CartLane contains compatibility paths for supported WooCommerce checkout experiences. Exact placement and behavior can differ between classic checkout, Checkout Blocks, themes, and third-party checkout extensions. Test every enabled feature on your actual checkout.

= Will CartLane slow down my store? =

CartLane uses conditional asset loading and a lightweight storefront runtime, but no plugin can guarantee identical performance on every site. Measure your store before and after activation using the same pages, cache state, device profile, and hosting environment.

= Does CartLane require jQuery on the storefront? =

CartLane's own storefront runtime uses Vanilla JavaScript and does not add a CartLane jQuery dependency. WooCommerce, your theme, or other extensions may still load jQuery independently.

= Where is CartLane analytics data stored? =

CartLane Free stores its workflow and analytics records in your WordPress database. It does not require a separate external analytics account for its built-in reports.

= Does CartLane send store analytics to an external service? =

The free plugin's built-in analytics are processed locally. External services may still receive data when you use email delivery, payment, hosting, security, CDN, or other integrations configured on your site.

= What happens when I deactivate or uninstall CartLane? =

Deactivation stops CartLane runtime features but does not perform the same cleanup as uninstalling. Uninstall behavior follows the plugin's data-retention configuration and cleanup routines. Create a database backup before removing production data.

= Can I translate CartLane? =

Yes. CartLane is localization-ready and uses the `cartlane` text domain. You can contribute translations through WordPress.org or use a compatible translation workflow.

= Does CartLane work with every theme and checkout plugin? =

CartLane follows WooCommerce hooks and APIs, but heavily customized themes, checkout replacements, optimization plugins, and payment extensions can change expected markup or request flow. Test compatibility on staging and report reproducible conflicts through the support forum.

= Do I need CartLane Pro to use the free features? =

No. CartLane Free works independently. CartLane Pro is an optional add-on that requires the free plugin and unlocks additional modules.

= Where can I get support and documentation? =

Use the WordPress.org support forum for the free plugin. Setup guides and documentation are available on the [CartLane documentation site](https://cartlane.tophivetheme.com/docs/).
