Create and measure A/B tests for pages, posts, buttons, headings, URLs, and WooCommerce products.

== Description ==

CausalFunnel A/B Testing helps site owners create, launch, and evaluate conversion experiments from the WordPress dashboard.

Features include:

* Page, post, URL, headline, button, element, and WooCommerce product tests.
* Audience targeting by device, browser, country, referrer, UTM parameters, and time.
* Conversion goals and experiment result reporting.
* Optional analytics, heatmap, and customer-journey integrations.
* Optional AI-assisted test suggestions.

External data collection and analytics are disabled by default. Enable the relevant options in the plugin's Account Info screen only after reviewing the data-processing details below.

== External services ==

This plugin can connect to CausalFunnel services to provide cloud-synchronised experiments, analytics, heatmaps, customer-journey reports, geolocation, and optional AI suggestions.

When the relevant feature is enabled, the plugin may send or request site URL/identifier, experiment configuration, page URLs, browser/device information, conversion events, product/order test metadata, country/region information, and AI suggestion inputs. The exact data depends on the feature used.

Services and purposes:

* `server.causalfunnels.com` — optional analytics, heatmap, customer-journey, geolocation, public-intelligence, and rendered-page audit requests. Depending on the feature, the payload can include a site/collection identifier, page URL, site name, date range, public visitor IP for geolocation, or audit page data. Requests occur when an administrator opens the relevant report or starts an audit, and require the corresponding consent setting.
* `apps.causalfunnels.com` — experiment configuration and conversion metrics. Payloads can include test configuration, test identifiers, variant assignments, page URLs, pseudonymous session/device identifiers, event type, device type, and optional conversion value. Configuration requests occur from administrator test actions; metric requests require analytics consent.
* Google Analytics/Tag Manager connection — no Google API key is bundled with this plugin. If a deployment uses an API key, it may be supplied outside the plugin (for example in `wp-config.php`); the current CausalFunnel API also supports these requests without a key.
* `agent.causalfunnels.com` — optional AI suggestions and audits. Payloads can include product names, prices, descriptions, categories, tags, stock status, site identifier, business context, and audit inputs. Requests require analytics and, where historical data is used, historical-data consent, and occur only after an administrator starts the AI feature.
* `us-central1-causalfunnel-21.cloudfunctions.net` — IP-to-country geolocation when audience targeting requires it and analytics consent is enabled. The `ShopifyPluginWebHook` endpoint also receives a lifecycle notification on plugin activation and uninstall using `PUT`. That payload includes plugin status (`Installed` or `Uninstalled`), WordPress site title as `app_name`, site URL, derived shop name, administrator username/email when available, display name, stable installation identifiers, lifecycle timestamps, and legacy script URL metadata. This lifecycle notification is separate from analytics consent so CausalFunnel can send installation/uninstallation emails.
* `www.scripts.causalfunnel.com` — retained only as a legacy metadata URL in the endpoint registry; no JavaScript is loaded from this host.
* The plugin bundles its admin JavaScript/CSS dependencies locally. The support chatbot is disabled in this build and does not load or collect data unless explicitly enabled in a future release with the consent guard intact.

Review the [CausalFunnel privacy policy](https://www.causalfunnel.com/privacy) and the applicable service terms before enabling external integrations. Site owners are responsible for obtaining any consent required by their jurisdiction and publishing an accurate privacy/cookie notice.

The plugin does not provide legal advice. Site owners should confirm the applicable controller/processor terms, retention period, transfer locations, and deletion process with CausalFunnel before enabling an external integration. For remote deletion requests, contact CausalFunnel support through [CausalFunnel](https://www.causalfunnel.com/).

== Privacy and cookies ==

When data collection and experiment tracking are enabled, the following cookies are strictly required for the plugin's core functionality to operate (such as experiment consistency and duplicate-event prevention):
* `cf_prevDeviceId` and `cf_prevBrowserId` (up to 365 days): Contain pseudonymous browser/device identifiers.
* `cf_visitor_id` (up to 365 days): Contains a unique session identifier for tracking.
* `cf_prod_test_*` (up to 30 days): Stores A/B test variant bucket assignments for returning visitors.
* `cf_view_*` (up to 1 hour): Used to prevent duplicate pageview metric recording on reload.

These cookies are only created after consent. Disable data collection in Account Info to stop new tracking and cookie creation; previously issued cookies expire naturally or can be cleared by the site owner.

Disable data collection in Account Info to stop plugin tracking scripts and new analytics events. Installation and uninstall lifecycle notifications may still transmit the lifecycle metadata described above. Existing data stored by CausalFunnel services is governed by the service's retention and deletion policies.
