Create an AI agent for your WordPress website. Help customers, capture leads and learn what they need. No coding required.

== Description ==

**Build your own website agent. Learn from the people who use it.**

Chat4U helps you create an AI agent for your WordPress website without coding or AI expertise. Give it your business information, choose what it should help with, and shape how it speaks and looks.

Your visitors get a conversational way to explore what you offer. You get a clearer understanding of their questions, needs and concerns.

= Help customers find answers and make decisions =

"Which service is right for me?" "What's included?" "How do I get started?"

Your agent uses the information you provide to answer questions, explain options and guide visitors to relevant pages. Put your website content to work in a conversation that helps people understand your business and decide what to do next.

= Capture leads within the conversation =

When a visitor is interested in hearing more, your agent can offer a contact form that fits the conversation. You choose the details to collect; visitors review and submit their information, giving you a request you can follow up on.

= Discover what your customers need =

Chat4U's Conversation Intelligence helps you see which questions keep coming up, what visitors cannot find and where conversations get stuck. Get recommendations for improving your content, customer experience and sales approach, with the supporting conversations available to review.

Use what you learn to explain your services more clearly, fill gaps in your website and identify conversations that deserve follow-up. You decide what to change.

= Start with the content you already have =

Connect your WordPress website so your agent can use its public pages, posts and other public content. Changes are picked up automatically, helping your agent stay aligned with your website. You can also add documents and other business information in Chat4U.

Use the public content you already publish in different languages, choose a response style that suits your business, and customize your agent's appearance. Turn it on from your WordPress settings when it's ready.

A Chat4U account and a plan with WordPress integration are required. Conversation Intelligence and other features vary by plan. See [Chat4U plans](https://chat4u.ai/pricing) for details.

== External service ==

This plugin connects your website to the Chat4U online service. It requires a Chat4U account and an eligible subscription, managed directly with Chat4U. There is no separate subscription billed through WordPress.

You choose when to connect. During setup, the plugin sends your website's identity, addresses and temporary connection details to Chat4U so you can confirm the correct account and project. After you confirm, Chat4U reads public website content and checks for changes. Connection credentials are stored in WordPress and encrypted in Chat4U; they are not included in public website scripts.

WordPress user accounts, comments, existing form submissions, WooCommerce orders, drafts, private pages and password-protected posts are not imported. Public custom fields are included only when Chat4U can verify that they are publicly available.

When you enable the assistant, visitors' browsers connect to Chat4U to load it and send their messages. If you enable contact capture, submitted contact details are also sent to Chat4U under your configured privacy notice and consent settings. Review those settings and update your website's privacy policy before showing the assistant. Suggested wording is available in WordPress's privacy tools.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Will it work with my website? =
Chat4U connects public WordPress websites that can install plugins. Page builders, language plugins, membership settings, caching and security tools can affect which content is publicly readable; check the connected content in Chat4U after setup. WordPress Multisite and headless installations are currently unsupported. This release does not include WooCommerce shopping actions or bookings.

= What happens if my website has more content than my plan allows? =
Chat4U uses the word allowance shared by your project's content sources, including active word add-ons. Each published translation counts toward that allowance. Complete pages and posts that fit can be used; the rest wait until you add capacity or free space. Chat4U never cuts a page short just to fit it in. You can see what is ready and what is waiting in Chat4U.

= What happens during a connection problem? =
During a temporary outage, your assistant can keep using eligible content for up to 72 hours from the last verified update. A connection check alone does not extend that window. Confirmed removals, disconnection, plugin deactivation or deletion, revoked access, or loss of your plan's integration access stop affected content from being used immediately. If your website is unreachable and cannot send a notice, automatic checks and the 72-hour limit still apply. Cached website pages may still contain the assistant's loader, but Chat4U checks whether the connection and assistant are still allowed to run.

= How do I remove the connection? =
Disconnect in Chat4U to revoke service access. Deactivating the plugin also sends a signed revocation notice. Uninstall removes this plugin's local options, schedule and change table. Your posts and users are preserved. Deleting the Knowledge source is separate from disconnecting the site.

= Why is content missing? =
Check coverage and language warnings in Chat4U. The page must be public over HTTPS, anonymously accessible from the service, and part of a verified site/language origin. Check password protection, membership rules, bot protection, REST restrictions and available word capacity. Fix the host configuration and allow automatic recovery, or use Update now in Chat4U.

= Where is the source? =
The ZIP contains readable PHP and JavaScript; no build, minification or hidden executable download is required. The platform repository contains the reproducible packaging script and protocol tests. The assistant uses the separately hosted Chat4U widget.
