School management and report cards for any country: students, staff, results, grading, and student and teacher portals.

== Description ==

Classynt Schools helps a school run results, staff and students day to day, without spreadsheets. It is built to fit different countries and school systems: you choose how your academic year is divided, what is assessed and how it is graded.

**School setup**

* School name, motto, address, contact details and logo
* Report accent colour and head teacher sign-off (signature image or name and date)
* Academic periods of your choice: terms, semesters, trimesters, quarters, or your own names
* Assessment components you define for each period (for example coursework, midterm and exam), with maximum scores and ready-made presets
* Configurable grading scale, with presets
* Sessions, classes, sections and subjects

**Student management**

* Add and manage students, with automatic PIN generation for portal login
* Arrange the student list alphabetically by first name or by date added; your choice is remembered
* Sections within each class, which can be removed without removing the class

**Student result portal**

* Public shortcode: `[classynt_result_portal]`
* Students sign in with an admission number and a PIN
* Print-optimised report card: subject scores, attendance, psychomotor and affective ratings, comments and sign-off
* Report text is translation-ready

**Results workspace**

* Enter results and report details for a student on one page
* Session, period and class filters with quick roster loading

**Staff and teacher portal**

* Staff sign in with a Staff ID and PIN; no WordPress user account is required
* Teachers only see the classes, sections and subjects assigned to them
* Enter results and report details from the teacher dashboard
* Staff and assignment management, including per-section access restriction

**Coming soon**

* Assignments: teachers post work and students submit it
* Announcements: school-wide or class notices
* Practice exams: timed, computer-based practice

= Pro =

Classynt Pro adds:

* Report page layout: choose which sections appear (attendance, rating sections, comment boxes), their order, titles and labels, add your own rating sections and comment boxes, and decide which boxes staff may edit. The same layout is used on the Results page, the staff dashboard, the printed report and the student portal
* Promotion to the next class and session, with an optional pass-mark condition; earlier results stay with the class and session they belong to
* Per-session fee gate: mark a student Paid or Outstanding and the portal holds Outstanding results, with bulk controls per class
* More report card templates: Academic, Comprehensive, Progress, Competency and Transcript
* Result locking per session, period and class
* Audit trail of result changes
* Extra staff capabilities, including adding and editing students and promoting classes from the teacher dashboard

Pro functionality is not included in this WordPress.org build.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does it work for schools outside Africa? =

Yes. Nothing is fixed to one country: you choose terms, semesters, trimesters, quarters or your own period names, define your own assessment components and set your own grading scale.

= Do students need a WordPress account? =

No. Students sign in with an admission number and PIN.

= Can teachers log in without a WordPress account? =

Yes. Staff sign in with a Staff ID and PIN issued by the administrator, and only see the classes and subjects assigned to them.

= What happens to a student's old results after promotion? =

Promotion is a Classynt Pro feature. Earlier results stay with the class and session they belong to, students can still view them in the portal by choosing the earlier session, and rankings and averages for that session are not affected.

= Can I change which report sections and comment boxes are used? =

Yes, in Classynt Pro, using the Report page layout settings. The free version uses the standard layout.

= How do I stop a student from seeing a result before fees are paid? =

This is a Classynt Pro feature. Mark the student's session as "Outstanding" on the Results screen and the portal holds the report until it is marked "Paid".

This plugin uses Freemius, a licensing and software-update platform, to manage optional license activation for the Pro version and (only if you choose to opt in) anonymous usage analytics that help us improve the plugin.

No data is sent to Freemius automatically when the plugin is activated. On first activation you're shown a one-time opt-in screen with two options — "Skip" or "Allow & Continue" — and nothing is transmitted to Freemius until you make that choice. If you click "Skip", no usage data is shared and the plugin works fully. If you click "Allow & Continue", or if you later connect a license or account from the Account page, the following is sent: your site URL, WordPress and PHP version, this plugin's version, and (for connecting an account) the name and email of the WordPress user connecting it. No student, teacher, parent, or school data stored by this plugin (results, attendance, admission numbers, PINs, etc.) is ever sent to Freemius or any other third party — all of that stays in your own WordPress database.
