Accept donations on your WordPress site with your Cotara donation page. Elementor widget, block, shortcode and sidebar widget.

== Description ==

Cotara Donations puts your Cotara donation page on your own website. Donors give without leaving your site, and every gift arrives in your Cotara dashboard as usual. Payments are processed by Stripe through Cotara. The plugin never sees or stores card details.

Three ways to show it:

* **Pop-up form**: a button that opens the donation form on top of your page.
* **Donate button**: a button that opens your donation page.
* **In-page form**: the donation form inside your page.

Works with:

* **Elementor**: search for "Cotara Donate" in the widget panel. Full style controls (colours, typography, border, radius, padding, shadow, responsive alignment).
* **Block editor (Gutenberg)**: add the "Cotara Donate" block.
* **Shortcode**: `[cotara_donate]` anywhere shortcodes work, including Divi, Beaver Builder, WPBakery, Bricks and Oxygen text or code modules.
* **Sidebars and footers**: Appearance > Widgets > "Cotara Donate".

== External services ==

This plugin connects to Cotara, the donation platform that runs your donation page. It is needed to show the donation form and to process gifts.

* **What is sent and when:** when a visitor clicks a Cotara button, or views a page with the in-page form, their browser loads your donation page from `donor.usecotara.com` inside a frame or a new tab. The link carries the campaign address and attribution fields (`utm_source`, `utm_medium`, `cotara_src`). The plugin itself sends no data to Cotara and stores no donor data. When the donor gives, the donor enters their details on Cotara's page, and the card payment goes to Stripe through Cotara.
* **Service provider:** Cotara. Terms of service: https://usecotara.com/terms. Privacy policy: https://usecotara.com/privacy.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Is it secure? =
The form runs on Cotara's secure page inside a frame. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch your WordPress site. The plugin only accepts https links on usecotara.com.

= Does it slow my site? =
The script is about 3 KB and the style is about 2 KB. They load only on pages that show a Cotara element. The in-page form loads lazily.

= Apple Pay or Google Pay does not show =
Some browsers limit wallets inside frames. Use the "Donate button" display, which opens the full donation page.
