Rank higher in search and get cited by AI assistants: meta tags, schema, sitemaps, redirects, content analysis and AI crawler tracking.

== Description ==

Crownify is an all-in-one SEO plugin for WordPress that does everything you expect (titles and meta descriptions, XML sitemaps, schema markup, redirects, content analysis), and one thing most SEO plugins still do not: it optimizes for **answer engines**.

Search is no longer only ten blue links. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews read your pages and quote them, and being quotable is a different skill from ranking. Crownify handles both, and tells you which AI assistants are actually reading your site.

= 🚀 Everything a Modern SEO Plugin Should Do =

- **Titles & Meta Descriptions** – Per-post-type templates with 25 variables, live Google preview, and pixel-accurate length meters rather than misleading character counts.
- **XML Sitemaps** – Paginated, styled, and automatically excluding anything you have set to noindex.
- **Schema Markup** – A single connected `@graph` for every page: Organization, WebSite, WebPage, BreadcrumbList, Article, Author and Image, cross-referenced the way Google expects.
- **Redirect Manager & 404 Monitor** – 301/302/307/308/410/451, wildcards and regex, with loop detection at save time and a 404 log that cannot grow out of control.
- **Content Analysis** – Keyword, structure and readability checks that run in your browser as you write. Nothing is sent to a server.
- **Open Graph & X Cards** – Correct social previews, with conflict detection when another plugin is emitting its own.
- **Breadcrumbs** – Block, shortcode and template tag, matching the schema trail exactly.
- **robots.txt & llms.txt** – Full control, served virtually so nothing is left behind on your server.

= 🤖 Built for AI Answer Engines =

- **AI Crawler Log** – See which assistants fetch your pages, how often, and which pages they read.
- **AI Crawler Control** – Allow or block 16 crawlers across 10 vendors individually, with each one's purpose explained, including which ones decide whether you can be cited at all.
- **llms.txt** – Publish a readable map of your site written for language models.
- **Answer Blocks (Pro)** – Finds question-shaped headings and marks the answers up so they can be quoted directly.
- **Retrieval Score (Pro)** – How cleanly your page splits into passages an assistant can lift.
- **AI Referral Tracking (Pro)** – Count visitors arriving from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, per page. Read from the `utm_source` the assistant puts on its own links, so the visit is still counted when the referrer is stripped, which is what ChatGPT does. The closest thing to proof your content was cited, not just crawled.

= 🔒 Standalone and Private =

Crownify does not require an account, an API key, or a connection to any external service to do its job. Your content is never sent anywhere for analysis. The content checks run entirely in your browser.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin files to `/wp-content/plugins/crownify`, or install it through the WordPress Plugins screen.
2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.
3. The setup wizard opens automatically. It takes about two minutes, and every step is optional.
4. That is it. Crownify produces correct titles, descriptions, schema and a sitemap from the moment it is activated.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

**Do I need to import anything from my old SEO plugin?**

No. Crownify reads the titles, descriptions, canonicals, focus keywords and robots settings you already wrote in Yoast, Rank Math, All in One SEO or SEOPress, and serves them straight away, whether or not those plugins are still installed. Nothing is copied, moved or deleted, so your old plugin keeps working exactly as it did and you can switch back at any time. Anything you write in Crownify takes over from then on, with no merge step to think about.

**What is answer engine optimization, and why does it matter?**

Traditional SEO gets you ranked. Answer engine optimization gets you *quoted*. When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity a question, the assistant reads pages and cites a few of them. Being cited depends on things ranking does not measure: whether a passage makes sense read on its own, whether a question has a self-contained answer near it, whether your site is readable by the crawlers those assistants use. Crownify handles the ranking half and the citation half.

**Does Crownify send my content anywhere?**

No. The content analysis runs in your browser. Crownify does not require an account or an API key, and there is no external service to connect to. Two Pro features make outbound requests and both are optional and anonymous: IndexNow notifies Bing and Yandex that a URL changed, and crawler verification downloads the IP ranges vendors publish so a spoofed user agent cannot inflate your traffic numbers. Email notifications, when you switch them on, go through your own site's mail. Nothing is sent to us.

**Will it conflict with my current SEO plugin?**

Two SEO plugins both emitting meta tags will produce duplicates, so run one at a time. Crownify detects competing Open Graph output and warns you. Deactivate your old plugin once you are happy with what Crownify is serving. Its data stays where it is.

**Does it work with WooCommerce?**

Yes. Crownify Pro builds Product schema from your live store data (price, stock, SKU, GTIN, brand and real review ratings), so it stays correct as your shop changes, with no fields to retype. Variable products emit a proper price range. Cart, checkout and account pages are kept out of search results.

**Can I control which AI crawlers read my site?**

Yes, individually, for 16 crawlers across 10 vendors. Crownify explains what each one does before you decide, because blocking is not the safe default it looks like: some of these crawlers are how ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity find pages to cite, and blocking those removes you from AI answers entirely along with the traffic they send.

**Can it tell me when my rankings change?**

No, and no plugin can do it honestly without an outside service. A page's position in Google can only be known by asking Google, which means either scraping them, which breaks and gets your server blocked, or paying a rank API per query. Crownify stays standalone instead and reports what it can genuinely observe from your own site: coverage, broken URLs, and which AI assistants are actually reading your pages. That last one is something rank trackers cannot tell you at all.

**How does the redirect manager stay fast on a large site?**

An exact match is a single indexed lookup no matter how many rules exist, and only wildcard and regex rules are ever walked. Rules run only on requests that would otherwise return 404, so a redirect can never shadow a page that actually exists.

**Is Crownify compatible with my theme?**

Yes. Crownify works with any WordPress theme, plugin or configuration: standard sites, e-commerce, membership, multilingual and more. It is a standalone plugin that does not require or depend on anything else to function.

**What is the difference between the free and Pro versions?**

The free version is a complete SEO plugin: titles and descriptions, sitemaps, schema, redirects and the 404 monitor, content analysis, social tags, breadcrumbs, robots.txt, llms.txt, AI crawler control and a 7-day AI crawler log. [Crownify Pro](https://daftplug.com/crownify/) adds the rich schema library, WooCommerce and Local SEO, internal link suggestions and the orphan report, auto-redirects on slug change, answer blocks and the retrieval score, verified crawler identity with 90-day history, AI referral tracking, IndexNow, the role manager and priority support. Pro unlocks with a [DaftPlug Pro membership](https://daftplug.com/pricing/) that covers every All-in-One Pro plugin under one licence. Plans and site counts are on that pricing page.

**Where can I see documentation and pricing?**

Everything (the full feature list, screenshots, documentation and Pro pricing) is at [daftplug.com/crownify](https://daftplug.com/crownify/).

== Changelog ==
= 1.2.1 =
* Improved: code quality and WordPress coding standards compliance.

= 1.2.0 =
* The plugin is now called Crownify. The WordPress.org slug and text domain are crownify. Existing settings, redirects, crawler history and Pro licences carry over, and Pro installs keep their current folder and main file so the update does not deactivate them.
* New icon, wordmark and admin menu icon.

= 1.1.1 =
* Fix: Crawler visit tracking no longer rewrites its data file on every page load, which could log file permission warnings on some servers.

= 1.1.0 =
* Added Google Search Console. Connect with your own Google Cloud account to see clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position, top queries and top pages, plus the same numbers on each post.
* Added "Redirect even if the page exists" on each redirect rule. It is off by default, so current rules still run only when a page is missing. Turn it on when a rule should also run for a page that is still published.
* Added a Settings link in the plugin header, beside Enable Pro.
* Fixed the setup wizard so its page title is set, and kept the wizard out of the sidebar.
* Added a way for a page cache to report AI crawler visits, so those visits can be counted without serving an uncached page.

= 1.0.5 =
* Fixed a PHP warning when parsing X handles

= 1.0.4 =
* Updated Freemius SDK to the latest version

= 1.0.3 =
* Fixed: plugin conflict causing a fatal error when used with other DaftPlug plugins.

= 1.0.2 =
* Fixed: oversized tooltips in the admin dashboard.

= 1.0.1 =
* Improvement: Pro is now enabled from daftplug.com; the in-plugin popup sends you straight to pricing instead of running checkout inside wp-admin
* Improvement: Every call to action and every prompt now reads "Enable Pro" rather than "Upgrade to Pro"
* Improvement: Redesigned the Pro popup: seven benefits instead of two terms lines, an Enable Pro switch that flips as it opens the store, and it now closes on Escape and returns focus where you left it
* Fix: Removed the 14-day free trial from the plugin description, which no longer offers one
* Improvement: Free installs show a count badge on the admin menu so the Pro build is visible without opening anything
* Improvement: Removed the free trial offer, including the leftover "Start Trial" item in the plugin menu
* Improvement: The Freemius checkout script is no longer loaded on admin pages
