Checkered Force

An original Entreveloper strategy game, playable single-player against a built-in AI — no word list required.

Checkered Force is different from the other two puzzle types: there's no word list to write. It's a self-contained 2-player abstract strategy board game, played here as one human reader against the computer.

How the game works

  • Pieces move diagonally, one step at a time, or jump over one of your own pieces once per turn.
  • Landing certain ways can trigger a forced move for the opponent — a chain reaction that can swing the game.
  • The goal: get all four of your pieces onto the opponent's home row before they do the same to you.
  • Four AI difficulty levels are available: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert.

Creating a Checkered Force entry

On EV Puzzles SettingsGenerate, scroll to Checkered Force Creation.

  1. Give it a title and pick a default difficulty (readers can still change difficulty themselves before each game).
  2. Click Save.
  3. Use Load existing to reopen or reuse a saved entry, with plays/completions shown inline.

What actually gets saved

Only the title and default difficulty are stored. Each game itself is generated fresh in the reader's browser every time they play — nothing about an individual playthrough is saved on your server.
