Manage your own quotes collection and display random, rotating, or daily quotes with a Gutenberg block, shortcode, or widget.

== Description ==

Faevika Quotes lets you keep your own collection of quotations inside WordPress and display them anywhere on your site.

Display modes:

* Random quote on each page load.
* Automatically rotating quotes at a configurable interval.
* Quote of the Day: the same quote for every visitor, changing at a chosen time in the WordPress site timezone.

Quote management:

* Add, edit, search, activate, deactivate, and delete quotes.
* Optional author field.
* Basic rich text formatting and links inside quote text.
* CSV import and export.
* One-click migration from the legacy Quotes Collection plugin when its database table is still present.

Display options:

* Gutenberg block with WordPress color, typography, spacing, and border controls.
* Classic WordPress widget.
* `[faevika_quotes]` shortcode.
* Optional author, quotation marks, manual “Next quote” button, transition, and repeat prevention.
* Theme-inherited styling by default, with optional plugin-wide design settings.
* Cache-safe front-end loading through the WordPress REST API, designed to work with full-page caching.

Faevika Quotes does not send quote data to an external service and does not require an account.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does Quote of the Day show the same quote to everyone? =

Yes. Faevika Quotes stores one active daily quote for the current daily period. The period changes at the time configured in Faevika Quotes settings and uses the WordPress site timezone.

= Does this work with page caching? =

Quotes are requested through a lightweight public WordPress REST endpoint after the page loads. This allows the page HTML itself to remain cached while dynamic quote modes continue to work.

= Can I migrate from Quotes Collection? =

Yes, if the old `{prefix}quotescollection` database table still exists. Open Faevika Quotes > Import / Export and use the Quotes Collection importer. Do not uninstall/delete the old Quotes Collection plugin before migration if its uninstall process would remove the table.

= What happens to my quotes if I delete Faevika Quotes? =

By default the plugin leaves its data in the database, making a later reinstall possible. You can opt in to permanent data deletion in Faevika Quotes > Settings > Advanced before uninstalling.

= Does the plugin support multilingual quotes? =

Language-specific quote filtering is planned for a later version. Faevika Quotes currently stores and displays one shared quotes collection.
