Connects your site to Fasta Blogging: fills in Yoast SEO or Rank Math fields and guards your posts against duplicates and overwrites.

== Description ==

Fasta Blogging publishes the blog posts it prepares for you to your WordPress site. This plugin lets those posts arrive complete and keeps your own work safe:

* **SEO fields filled in.** The SEO title, meta description and focus keyword reach Yoast SEO or Rank Math, instead of being pasted in by hand. Only these three fields, only on standard posts and only for someone allowed to edit that post.
* **No duplicate posts.** If a connection drops while a post is being created, Fasta Blogging can tell whether it was created instead of sending it again.
* **Your edits are not overwritten.** If you change a post on your site, Fasta Blogging will not replace it with an older version without someone reviewing it first.

The plugin adds no settings screen and no scripts or styles to your site. It changes nothing about how your site looks. It does nothing until Fasta Blogging connects with a user account and Application Password that you create.

Requirements: a Fasta Blogging account (https://fastablogging.io) is needed for the plugin to do anything.

== External services ==

This plugin makes no outbound requests. Your site never sends data anywhere on its own.

It adds two endpoints to your site's REST API. Fasta Blogging's servers (https://fastablogging.io) call them using the Application Password you create for Fasta Blogging. They are called only while your site is connected to Fasta Blogging, and they need a logged-in user who can edit posts.

* `/wp-json/fasta/v1/status` is read when you test the connection and before Fasta Blogging publishes a post. It sends back the plugin version, which supported SEO plugin is active and the publishing permissions of the connected account.
* `/wp-json/fasta/v1/ref/<id>` is read when Fasta Blogging is not sure a post it sent was created. It sends back whether that post exists, and if so its ID, status, last modified time and link.

Nothing else is read. The `/ref/<id>` call can also change one thing on your site: if the post it asks about already exists, the call marks that creation as finished.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate the plugin.
2. Create a WordPress user for Fasta Blogging (see FAQ for the role), then an Application Password for it under Users → Profile → Application Passwords.
3. Enter the site address, username and Application Password in Fasta Blogging and press Test connection.

If you previously pasted the Fasta Blogging SEO snippet into the Code Snippets plugin or your theme, you can remove it once the connection test shows the plugin.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= What role should the Fasta Blogging user have? =

Editor. Fasta Blogging needs to create, publish and update posts, upload images and credit each post to the author you choose rather than to its own account. An Author account cannot do the last one. Do not use an Administrator account.

= How do I disconnect? =

Revoke the Application Password under Users → Profile → Application Passwords. Access stops immediately. Deactivating this plugin stops the SEO fields and the guards; it does not revoke access.

= Does it work on multisite? =

Yes. It can be activated per site or across the network. Each site keeps its own records.
