Simplify a client's WordPress admin menu. Pick one account and show only the tools they need, without modifying roles or permissions.

== Description ==

**Your client's WordPress. Simplified.**

FreelanceHero Client Manager helps designers prepare a focused WordPress admin menu for a single client account (Owner). Select the Owner, choose visible native modules, and save. The Owner keeps their existing WordPress role and capabilities.

* **One Owner, simple setup:** choose one existing WordPress user as the client.
* **Native WordPress modules:** select what the Owner sees based on available capabilities.
* **Individual plugin menu entries:** for Owners with the native Administrator role, select individual third-party menu items and submenus without configuring those plugins.
* **WooCommerce Shop Manager:** offers detectable WooCommerce menu entries when the role and capabilities allow it. Availability varies with WooCommerce setup.
* **Designer account:** the configuring administrator keeps their full menu and is excluded from Owner selection.
* **Menu preview:** see the selected navigation before saving.
* **Reversible:** deactivate the plugin to restore the regular admin menu.

This plugin **controls menu visibility only**. It does not change user roles, capabilities, WordPress security, or third-party plugin functionality. Hiding a menu item does not prevent access to its URL where the user's WordPress permissions allow it.

The plugin's own configuration is restricted to the designated Designer account; an Owner cannot use that configuration screen. An Owner who is a WordPress Administrator still retains all native administrator privileges.

Optional information about the full FH Client Manager is shown on this plugin's own settings page: https://freelancehero.dev/

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate FreelanceHero Client Manager from Plugins > Add New, or upload its ZIP.
2. Log in as a WordPress administrator account that will manage the configuration, **different from the intended Owner**.
3. Open FHCM Free and select the Owner account. Load available modules.
4. Choose native WordPress menu items and, if applicable, individual third-party or WooCommerce items.
5. Review the menu preview and save. The first valid save identifies the Designer account.
6. Sign in as the Owner in another browser session to verify the result.

When upgrading an installed version, replace the plugin files without uninstalling; uninstalling removes the stored preferences.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does this plugin change WordPress user permissions? =

No. It changes menu visibility only. WordPress continues to determine which actions each user can perform.

= Can I configure one specific client account? =

Yes. The plugin has one selected Owner per site. The Designer account is excluded from Owner selection.

= Can the Owner be an Administrator? =

Yes. The Owner sees selected menu items but still retains WordPress Administrator capabilities. This is a usability tool, not an administrator security sandbox.

= Can I show individual menu items from other plugins? =

For an Owner with the native Administrator role, detectable third-party menu items and submenus can be selected separately. Items that cannot be reliably discovered may not appear in the configuration.

= Does it support WooCommerce? =

A WooCommerce Shop Manager can be offered detectable WooCommerce menu entries when active and permitted. Not every WooCommerce screen or third-party extension is guaranteed to be detected.

= What happens when I deactivate the plugin? =

Standard WordPress admin menus return. Deactivation keeps preferences; uninstalling removes this plugin's own settings.

= What if the Designer account is removed? =

Another eligible WordPress administrator who is not the Owner may recover the configuration when the original Designer is no longer valid. If the only administrator is the Owner, establish another administrator account by normal WordPress methods first.
