Schedules and publishes blog posts. Writing and images run on the Journal Scribe generation service.

== Description ==

Journal Scribe plans a publishing schedule for a WordPress or WooCommerce site, then stores drafts and publishes them on that schedule.

Article text and images are produced by an external service, not by code that is locked inside this plugin:

* Service: Journal Scribe generation
* Address: https://journal-creator.onrender.com
* What it does: writes the article and image for a planned post, using the site profile and the settings you save in WordPress

Connect a service key under Journal Scribe → Service if you want that service to write posts. Settings, site analysis, and the schedule screens work without a key. The plugin does not disable itself after a trial, a quota, or an end date. If the service declines a request, that request fails and the rest of the plugin stays available.

Updates for this directory release are delivered by WordPress.org.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to the Journal Scribe generation service at https://journal-creator.onrender.com to write article text and images for planned posts, and to check whether a saved service key is accepted.

Data sent and when:

* Opening a Journal Scribe admin screen: a reachability check to `/health`. No site key or site identity is sent with that check.
* Saving or checking a service key: the service key, the site URL, and a random site id generated on your WordPress install.
* After a key is connected: the same fields plus a tick URL and tick secret so the service can call your site's REST endpoint `journal-scribe/v1/tick` when WordPress cron is delayed.
* Generating an article or image: the service key, site URL, site id, and the post context from your saved settings and site profile (topics, language, products, and related planning fields).

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does the plugin require a paid license to use its own screens? =

No. Scheduling, settings, and site analysis are in the plugin and stay available. Writing the article is done by the external generation service, which needs the service key you save.

= Where do updates come from? =

From WordPress.org, after this plugin is approved. The plugin does not download updates from another server.

= What data is sent off the site? =

See the External services section.
