Show your reviews from Google, Facebook, Booking.com, Tripadvisor and 35+ more sites in a badge, slider or reviews page.

== Description ==

JustReview shows your Google reviews, your Facebook reviews and reviews from 35+ other sites, such as Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Airbnb, Yelp, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Allegro and Booksy. Put them on your WordPress site as a rating badge, a review slider, testimonials or a full reviews page, and let visitors see what your customers say before they buy.

Everything happens in your WordPress dashboard: you create or connect your JustReview account, see your review sources and your plan, build widgets and place them on your pages with one click.

= Free plan =

Connect your Google reviews and Facebook reviews (recommendations) and show them in the JustReview Badge on every page of your site, for free. Paid plans add the review slider, the reviews page and the other widget types below, plus more review sources. The plugin marks which plan each widget needs. Plans: https://justreview.co/pricing

= Reviews that search engines can read =

Many review widgets load reviews with JavaScript after the page is ready, so search engines and AI assistants can find an empty box instead of reviews. JustReview puts the reviews page and the testimonials slider straight into the page HTML. The content stays on your page, and the widget still updates on its own when new reviews come in.

= See it before you sign up =

The plugin shows a live example widget right after installation, before you create an account. You see exactly what your visitors will get.

= Six widget types =

* **JustReview Badge** - a small rating badge in the corner of the screen. Visible on every page, takes no space. Free plan.
* **JustReview Summary** - average rating, review count and star breakdown in one block. Plus plan.
* **JustReview Counters** - review counts from each source, side by side. Plus plan.
* **JustReview Testimonials** - a review slider (carousel) or a grid of reviews. The reviews are in the page source from the start. Plus plan.
* **JustReview Page** - the full list of your reviews with filters, as a dedicated reviews page. The reviews are in the page source from the start, so search engines and AI assistants see them. Pro plan.
* **JustReview Stars** - stars in a line of text, next to a product or service. Pro plan.

= Supported review sites =

* **Local businesses:** Google, Facebook, Yelp, Yell, Yellow Pages, Thumbtack, Angi
* **Hotels, travel and restaurants:** Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Airbnb, OpenTable, Zomato
* **Online stores and marketplaces:** Amazon, eBay, Etsy, AliExpress, Walmart, Allegro, Google Shopping, Opineo
* **Beauty and wellness:** Booksy, Moment
* **Software and apps:** Capterra, Product Hunt, App Store, Google Play
* **Health and legal:** Healthgrades, Zocdoc, Vitals, RateMDs, WebMD, Avvo, Martindale
* **Real estate:** Zillow

Reviews from several sites can be combined in one widget, with the logo of each source next to its reviews.

= What else it does =

* Place a widget on any page with one click. No code to copy.
* Gutenberg block and a `[justreview id="..."]` shortcode for those who prefer it.
* Live preview of every widget while you edit it. Every change shows up right away, before you save.
* Star rating in search results: one switch on the badge adds your average rating and review count to the page code (schema.org). Pro and Ultimate plans.
* Widget files load only on pages that actually show reviews.
* A diagnostics screen that checks your site the way a new visitor sees it and tells you in plain words whether everything works.
* Coexistence mode: if you still have the old JustReview code in your theme, the plugin shows you the file and line, and changes nothing without you.

= What this plugin will NOT do =

It does not collect reviews on its own and does not store a copy of them in your WordPress database. Your JustReview account stays the source of truth: a review you hide there disappears from your site without waiting for a cron job.

= An account is required =

The plugin connects your site to the JustReview service and needs an account. You can create one without leaving WordPress. The free plan includes two sources: Google and Facebook. Some widget types need a paid plan, and the plugin tells you so next to each of them instead of greying out buttons.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to services operated by JustReview. Without them it cannot show any reviews.

* **api.justreview.co** - creates your account, signs you in, and reads your plan, your list of review sources and your list of allowed domains. When you create an account we send the email address, password, company name and the address of this site. When you sign in we send the email address and password. The password is never stored by the plugin: only an access token is kept, and it is deleted when you disconnect the account.
* **render.justreview.co** - builds the widget with your reviews. We send your account ID, the widget settings, the language and the domain of the site. This happens when a page with a widget is generated, at most once per cache period set in the plugin settings.
* **justreview.co/widget/** - the widget stylesheet and script, loaded in your visitors' browsers only on pages that show reviews.

The plugin sends no telemetry and collects no data about the visitors of your site.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Is the plugin free? =

Yes. On the free plan you connect Google and Facebook and show your reviews in the JustReview Badge on every page. The review slider, the reviews page, the other widget types and more review sources come with paid plans, and the plugin shows which plan each widget needs.

= How do I add Google reviews to my WordPress site? =

Install the plugin, create a free account in the JustReview menu, connect Google in Review sources, then build a widget and click Place widget on this page. No code and no API key needed.

= Is JustReview affiliated with Google? =

No. JustReview (justreview.co) is an independent service. Google, Facebook and the other review sites are third-party sources the plugin connects to with your consent, and their names belong to their owners.

= Can I show Facebook reviews too? =

Yes. Facebook (Meta) calls them recommendations. Connect your Facebook page next to Google and both can appear in the same widget.

= Do the reviews help my SEO? =

The reviews page and the testimonials slider are part of the page HTML, so search engines and AI assistants can read the reviews without running JavaScript. On the Pro and Ultimate plans the badge can also add your average rating to the page code (schema.org). Whether stars appear in search results is decided by Google.

= Do I have to leave WordPress? =

Only to connect Google or Facebook. Both require your consent on their own screen, which cannot be done from the server. Everything else, including creating the account, happens in your dashboard.

= I already have the JustReview code pasted into my theme. What now? =

Nothing breaks. Paste that code into the Widgets screen and the plugin reads your settings from it. The Diagnostics screen shows the file and line number of the old code. Remove it only once the widget from the plugin works.

= How do I go back to the code in my theme? =

Switching the theme back is not enough. The badge the plugin shows on every page stays on, so you would see two badges. Do all three:

1. Put the old JustReview code back in your theme.
2. Remove the JustReview shortcodes and blocks from your pages, and any `do_shortcode()` call from your templates. Once the plugin is off, WordPress prints a leftover shortcode as plain text, for example `[justreview id="w1"]`.
3. Deactivate the plugin.

= Why are my reviews sometimes older than in my JustReview account? =

Reviews are cached for a few hours so the plugin does not call our server on every page view. You set the time in the settings, and you can force a refresh on the Diagnostics screen.

= Will the plugin slow down my site? =

Fetching reviews has a hard 2 second limit and the result is cached. If our server does not respond, the plugin uses the last good copy, and as a last resort lets the visitor's browser load the reviews. Your page never waits longer than those 2 seconds and never shows our error message.

= Can I show example reviews on my live site? =

No, and that is deliberate. Example reviews are only shown in your dashboard, before your account has reviews of its own. Showing someone else's reviews on a live site would mislead your customers.

== Changelog ==

= 0.6.1 =
* The block is listed in English as "JustReview: Reviews", with an English description and search keywords. Translations, including Polish, come from translate.wordpress.org.

= 0.6.0 =
* New name in the plugin directory: JustReview – Review Widgets for Google and Other Sources.
* Reviews fetched from the JustReview rendering service are filtered with wp_kses before they are placed on the page.
* Translations come from translate.wordpress.org instead of files bundled with the plugin.

= 0.5.9 =
* The testimonials carousel now arrives ready in the page HTML, like the reviews page. Search engines and AI crawlers that don't run JavaScript can read it, and the page no longer jumps down when the carousel starts.
* Diagnostics no longer report reviews shown twice on a page that has both the carousel and the reviews page.
* The reviews page preview in the widget editor is scaled down, so you see the first reviews and not just the header.

= 0.5.8 =
* The widget preview updates as you edit, without saving first.
* New switch on the badge: star rating in search results (Pro and Ultimate plans). Pasted JustReview code keeps this setting.

= 0.5.7 =
* The plugin directory name now says the widget shows more than Google reviews.

= 0.5.6 =
* The plugin is listed as "JustReview" on the Plugins screen.

= 0.5.5 =
* Saving, deleting or switching a widget now clears the page cache of popular caching plugins (Hummingbird, WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache and others), so the change shows up right away.
* The carousel no longer adds the "Would you recommend us?" bar on its own. It is now a separate switch, off by default, as in the JustReview dashboard.
* The badge can center its content while keeping the JustReview logo, and the rating box corner radius is adjustable (square by default, as in the dashboard).
* Fixed: on the reviews page the "Would you recommend us?" switch was labeled as a carousel.

= 0.5.4 =
* Fixed: the switch that shows the badge on the whole site said "Done" but did not save. The account name and plan were not saved either after connecting or refreshing the account.
* Review counts in a Polish dashboard no longer look like fractions (3 039 instead of 3,039).

= 0.5.3 =
* When the saved copy of the reviews goes stale, the plugin now tries again with more patience instead of giving up on the first two seconds.
* Diagnostics now warns when a page cache is serving a frozen copy of the reviews.
* The editor also shows the one line to paste into a theme template, for widgets that belong in the template rather than in page content.

= 0.5.2 =
* Fixed: saving a widget a second time silently discarded the changes.
* The badge can now be turned on for the whole site, with one switch.
* Pasting existing JustReview code now keeps the badge position, corner radius and semi-transparent colours.
* Source logos and the JustReview logo are separate switches, as they are in the dashboard.
* Colours keep their opacity, and the carousel gained card radius, page-language filter and English reviews.
* Diagnostics now catches reviews shown twice, which used to leave no trace in the page source.
* "Link to the review source" is off by default: it added around sixty outgoing links to a page of fifty reviews.

= 0.5.1 =
* The plugin now signs in with its own API client, separate from the JustReview panel.

= 0.5.0 =
* Live example widget before you create an account or connect a source.
* Simpler diagnostics: a clear verdict first, technical details on request.
* The plugin is now in English, with a Polish translation included.

= 0.4.0 =
* Place a widget on a page with one click.
* Link to plans and pricing where a widget needs a higher plan.
* On the free plan, the source list shows which sources the plan covers.

= 0.3.0 =
* Live widget preview in the editor.
* Widget types shown with a drawing, review sources with their logos.

= 0.2.0 =
* Create and connect a JustReview account from the dashboard.
* Build all six widget types and save as many widgets as you need.

= 0.1.0 =
* First version.
