AI chat and voice-call assistant for WordPress. Answer business questions, capture bookings, and search WooCommerce products when enabled.

== Description ==

Add an AI chat and voice-call assistant to your WordPress website. Mijaz AI can answer visitor questions using your business information, support voice conversations, and collect booking requests for you to confirm. If WooCommerce is active, it can also search your product catalog for prices, descriptions, and stock information. **WooCommerce is optional** — core chat and voice features work on regular WordPress websites too.

Mijaz AI is designed for business websites, service providers, and online stores that want to answer common questions and help visitors take the next step without requiring a human to respond to every message.

= Bring your own AI key =

Connect an API key from a supported AI provider. Your site sends requests to the provider you choose; Mijaz AI does not proxy conversations through its own servers or resell AI usage. You remain in control of the provider, model, and provider-side costs.

* **No per-message fee for core plugin use.** You supply and manage your own provider key; any paid add-on is separate.
* **Choose your provider.** Supported chat providers include Google Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral, Anthropic, OpenAI, and compatible custom endpoints.
* **Start with a provider's free tier, where available.** Free tiers have their own limits and conditions; paid providers charge according to your account and usage.
* **Keep the integration under your control.** Conversations are sent to the AI provider you configure, not to Mijaz's own servers.

Important: AI providers set their own prices, usage limits, data-handling terms, and model availability. Some free-tier providers may use submitted content to improve their services. Review your chosen provider's terms before processing sensitive customer information.

= Free features =

* Text and voice chat widget (free browser voice by default — no extra cost)
* Natural-sounding, multilingual voice using your own Gemini, ElevenLabs or OpenAI key — falls back to the free browser voice automatically if the provider fails or runs out of credit
* Call button: hands-free voice conversation, and optional real-time "live call" (WhatsApp-style, interruptible) using your own Gemini key
* Owner-set limits for live calls (call length, calls per visitor, minutes per day and month) and one-click on/off switches for every voice feature
* Guided Setup Wizard with links to where each API key comes from
* Configurable business knowledge base (hours, FAQ, policies)
* WooCommerce support: product search for price, stock and descriptions (when WooCommerce is active)
* Reservation/booking request capture, emailed to the site owner for manual confirmation

= Pro features =

* AI places WooCommerce orders on the customer's behalf
* AI modifies or cancels existing orders via conversation
* Live booking calendar with real-time availability
* Multiple locations / knowledge bases
* Callers can place orders and confirm bookings by voice during a call
* Conversation analytics and conversion tracking

== Privacy ==

* **Sent to your chosen AI provider:** chat messages and recent conversation, your business knowledge text, public product information, and — if you enable voice features — reply text (natural voice), short recordings of visitor speech (natural listening) or live call audio (live call). Nothing is sent to Mijaz.
* **Stored on your site:** conversations from the chat widget are stored in your database (Conversations screen). Live call transcripts are saved only if you switch on "Save call transcripts" (off by default). You can delete conversations and reservation requests (one, several or all) from their admin screens, set an automatic deletion period under Voice & Calls, and use WordPress's built-in Export / Erase Personal Data tools, which include this plugin's records matched by email address (conversations that never mention an email can be deleted from the Conversations screen). Suggested privacy-policy text is added under Settings → Privacy.
* **Browser speech recognition:** when natural listening is off, the visitor's browser (for example Chrome) may send microphone audio to its own vendor's speech service. This is done by the browser, not by this plugin.
* Live call visitors see a short notice that their voice is processed by an AI service and whether the call may be saved. Mention this in your site's privacy policy.
* The "Powered by Mijaz AI" credit is off by default and shown only if you tick the option in Settings.

This plugin needs you to connect an AI provider account of your own choosing. It does not work without one. When a visitor sends a chat message, that message, the recent conversation, your configured business knowledge text, and (when relevant) WooCommerce product information your store already shows publicly are sent to the provider you selected, using the API key you entered, to generate the reply. This happens on every chat turn. No data is sent until you enter a key and a visitor starts a conversation, and no data is sent to Mijaz's own servers.

Providers you can choose from, with their endpoints and legal pages:

* **Google Gemini** — `https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1beta/openai/` — Terms: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms — Privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
* **Groq** — `https://api.groq.com/openai/v1` — Terms and privacy: https://groq.com/terms-of-use and https://groq.com/privacy-policy
* **OpenRouter** — `https://openrouter.ai/api/v1` — Terms: https://openrouter.ai/terms — Privacy: https://openrouter.ai/privacy
* **Mistral AI** — `https://api.mistral.ai/v1` — Terms: https://mistral.ai/terms — Privacy: https://mistral.ai/terms#privacy-policy
* **Anthropic (Claude)** — `https://api.anthropic.com/v1/messages` — Terms: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/consumer-terms — Privacy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy
* **OpenAI** — `https://api.openai.com/v1/chat/completions` — Terms: https://openai.com/policies/row-terms-of-use — Privacy: https://openai.com/policies/row-privacy-policy
* **Custom endpoint** — a server URL you enter yourself (for example a local Ollama server). Its terms are set by whoever runs that server.

Only the provider you select receives data.

**Optional voice and live-call services** (used only if you switch them on and enter that provider's key; no data is sent otherwise):

* **Natural voice and natural listening** — the text of a reply (to speak it) or a short recording of the visitor's speech (to transcribe it) is sent from your site to the voice provider you choose:
  * Google Gemini — `https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1beta/models/` — Terms: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms — Privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  * ElevenLabs — `https://api.elevenlabs.io/v1/` — Terms: https://elevenlabs.io/terms-of-use — Privacy: https://elevenlabs.io/privacy-policy
  * OpenAI — `https://api.openai.com/v1/audio/` — Terms: https://openai.com/policies/row-terms-of-use — Privacy: https://openai.com/policies/row-privacy-policy
* **Live call** — your site asks Google for a short-lived, single-use access token (`https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1beta/auth_tokens`) using your Gemini key. The visitor's browser then streams the call audio directly to Google's Gemini Live service (`wss://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/`) using that token; the call audio does not pass through your server and your real key is never given to the browser. Terms and privacy as for Gemini above. On Google's free tier, Google may use content to improve its products — use a paid key for real customers if that matters to you.
* **Browser voice** (default) — uses the speech recognition and speech synthesis built into the visitor's own browser. Depending on the browser, recognition may be performed by the browser vendor's online service (for example Google in Chrome).

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin files to `/wp-content/plugins/mijaz-ai`, or install directly through the WordPress plugins screen.
2. Activate the plugin.
3. On activation you are taken to the **Setup Wizard**. It walks you through choosing an AI provider, adding your own API key (a free key from Google Gemini takes a couple of minutes to get — the wizard links to where each key comes from) and, optionally, turning on natural voice and live calls.
4. Fill in your business hours and FAQ so the assistant can answer accurately.
5. (Optional) Enable WooCommerce product search if WooCommerce is active.
6. Save. The chat widget will appear on your site's frontend.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need my own AI API key? =

Yes. You get a key from an AI provider and enter it in settings. Some providers (Google Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral) have free tiers with usage limits; others (Anthropic, OpenAI) bill per use. We add no markup and no subscription.

= Why do I get a "no credits" or "model not found" error? =

"No credits" comes from your AI provider: paid providers need a funded API account (a ChatGPT subscription is not API credit). "Model not found" means the provider retired that model — enter a current model name in the Model field in settings.

= Is my API key safe? =

Your key is encrypted before it is stored in your WordPress database and is only ever sent to the AI provider you chose — never to Mijaz's servers.

= Does this work without WooCommerce? =

Yes. The chat and voice assistant work on any WordPress site using your configured business knowledge base. If WooCommerce is active, the assistant can also search your products (price, stock, descriptions). Order-related features need WooCommerce.

= Does the plugin send my data to you? =

No. Conversations go directly from your server to the AI provider you choose. Nothing is sent to the plugin publisher. See the "External services" and "Privacy" sections above.

= Where do I get an API key? =

The Setup Wizard links to the key page of each supported provider. A free Google Gemini key takes a couple of minutes to create.

= Can the AI actually place orders for customers? =

That capability is part of Mijaz AI Pro. The free version helps customers find products and directs them to checkout normally.
