Build Elementor headers, footers, single, archive, search and 404 templates with display conditions and a focused widget library.

== Description ==

Nexus Theme Builder for Elementor lets you build Elementor headers, footers, single templates, archives, search results, 404 pages, and reusable blocks with display conditions.

Demo: [View live demo](https://aismartbase.smartwpthemes.com/nexus-elementor-theme-builder/)

The free plugin also includes a focused Elementor widget library and a dashboard where individual widgets can be enabled or disabled. WooCommerce-dependent widgets are registered only when WooCommerce is active.

== Free template types ==

The Free edition supports the following template types:

* **Header** — build a custom Elementor header and assign it to the entire site or selected locations.
* **Footer** — build a custom Elementor footer and assign it globally or conditionally.
* **Single content templates** — create Elementor layouts for posts and supported public custom post types.
* **Archive** — design archive layouts for supported WordPress archive contexts.
* **Search Results Page** — create an Elementor template for WordPress search-result pages.
* **404 Page** — replace the normal theme 404 output with an Elementor-designed template.
* **Custom Block** — build reusable Elementor content that can be inserted where supported, including through the Nexus template shortcode.

The Theme Builder works with supported public post types and public taxonomies when they meet the plugin's targetable-content requirements. This allows compatible third-party content types to participate without hard-coding every post type into the plugin.

== Display conditions and template assignment ==

Use simple assignment rules to control where each published template appears:

* **Display Location** — choose where the template should appear.
* **Exclude Location** — prevent the template from appearing in selected locations.
* **User Roles** — show templates based on login state or WordPress role.
* **Priority** — lower numbers win when multiple templates match.

== Custom Blocks and template shortcode ==

Published Nexus templates can be reused with `[netb_template id="123"]`. Replace `123` with the published Nexus template ID. Custom Blocks provide reusable Elementor-built content for supported locations.

== Widget management ==

Use **Nexus Builder > Dashboard** to enable or disable Nexus widgets. Disabled Free widgets are not registered with Elementor, and WooCommerce-dependent widgets are available only when WooCommerce is active.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate Elementor.
2. Install and activate **Nexus Theme Builder for Elementor**.
3. Open **Nexus Builder > Dashboard** to review and enable the Free widgets you want available in Elementor.
4. Create a new Nexus Theme Builder template.
5. Select the appropriate Template Type, such as Header, Footer, Single, Archive, Search Results, 404, or Custom Block.
6. Configure Display Location rules to determine where the template should appear.
7. Add Exclude Location rules if the template needs exceptions.
8. Configure User Roles when the template should be limited by login state or WordPress role.
9. Set Priority when multiple templates may target the same location.
10. Edit the template with Elementor, design the layout, and publish it.
11. Visit a matching frontend location to confirm that the published template is being selected as intended.

== Getting started with Nexus Builder ==

A typical workflow is:

1. Decide what part of the site you want to design, such as a Header or Footer.
2. Create the corresponding Nexus template.
3. Assign a Display Location, for example Entire Site.
4. Add exclusions if certain pages should retain another template.
5. Choose User Roles only when visitor-based targeting is required.
6. Use Priority to control which template wins when rules overlap.
7. Open the template in Elementor.
8. Add normal Elementor widgets and/or Nexus widgets.
9. Publish the template.
10. Test the relevant pages on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

For reusable content rather than a site-level Header/Footer/Single/Archive assignment, create a Custom Block and use it where supported, including with the `[netb_template id="..."]` shortcode.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does the Free Theme Builder require Elementor Pro? =

No. Elementor is required, but Elementor Pro is not required for the Free Nexus Theme Builder workflow or any widget listed in the Free widget section.

= Is the Pro functionality locked inside the Free plugin? =

No. Nexus Theme Builder for Elementor Pro is a separately distributed extension. The Free plugin contains and provides the Free functionality described in this readme. Pro registers its own additional widgets and features when that separate extension is installed and active.

= Can I build more than headers and footers? =

Yes. The Free Theme Builder also supports supported single-content templates, archives, Search Results, 404 templates, and reusable Custom Blocks.

= Can I target a template to a specific page or post? =

Yes, when the content is available as a supported target. Use Display Location to include the required content and Exclude Location to create exceptions.

= Which rule wins if a location is both included and excluded? =

The matching exclusion takes precedence over a matching display rule.

= Can templates change according to whether a user is logged in? =

Yes. User Roles can target all users, logged-in users, logged-out visitors, or individual WordPress roles.

= What happens if multiple published templates match? =

The eligible matching template with the lowest Priority number wins.

= Can I reuse a template through a shortcode? =

Yes. Published Nexus templates can be rendered with `[netb_template id="..."]` where shortcode output is supported. Replace the placeholder with the required template ID.

= Can I disable Nexus widgets I do not use? =

Yes. Use the widget controls in **Nexus Builder > Dashboard**. Disabled Free widgets are not registered in Elementor.

= Does WooCommerce have to be installed? =

No. WooCommerce is required only for WooCommerce-dependent widgets. The rest of the Theme Builder and non-WooCommerce widget library can be used without WooCommerce.

= What happens if WooCommerce is not active? =

WooCommerce-dependent widgets are not made available, while the other Nexus widgets and Theme Builder functionality continue to work.

= What happens if the optional Pro extension is deactivated? =

The Free Theme Builder and Free widgets continue to work. Pages or templates that contain Pro-only widgets should be reviewed before deactivating Pro because those widgets are supplied by the separate Pro extension.

= Is Mega Menu part of the Free plugin? =

No. Mega Menu is provided by the optional Pro extension. The dedicated Mega Menu Theme Builder template type is registered by Pro when the relevant Pro functionality is available.

= Can I use Nexus widgets on normal Elementor pages? =

Yes. Widgets that are enabled and registered can be used in Elementor wherever their normal requirements are satisfied; they are not limited to Theme Builder templates.

= Are compatible custom post types supported? =

The Theme Builder and query-based widgets can work with supported public post types and taxonomies where the plugin exposes them as compatible targets or sources. Availability can depend on the individual widget/template context.

= Can I use the Search widget for live search? =

Yes. The Free Search widget includes an optional Live Search mode with a configurable minimum-character threshold.

= Can the Counter use dynamic values? =

Yes. In addition to manual numbers, the Counter includes supported count sources such as post/content counts, user-role counts, and comment counts, depending on the selected configuration.

= Can the Table display WordPress content dynamically? =

Yes. The Static/Dynamic Table supports manual table data and supported dynamic WordPress query configurations. It also contains bounded remote CSV data handling where that data source is selected.

= Does the plugin send usage data or require an external account? =

The Free Theme Builder does not require an external account to use its included functionality. External Demo or Upgrade links are administrator-initiated links rather than requirements for using the Free Theme Builder.
