Install NMOS.NET meta tag, tracking.js, and optional no-JS beacon on your WordPress site.

== Description ==

Connect your WordPress site to the [NMOS.NET](https://nmos.net) crawler analytics service.

Plugin author / ownership contact: help@nmos.net

* Injects the `nmos-tracking` meta tag in `wp_head`
* Loads `tracking.js` from NMOS.NET via `wp_enqueue_script`
* Optional CSS beacon via `wp_enqueue_style` when JavaScript is limited

Copy your tracking ID from NMOS.NET → My Websites → Copy Meta Tag & Script. Saving a valid tracking ID enables the service on public pages.

This plugin is an independent integration for the NMOS.NET service and is not an official WordPress.org product.

= External service =

This plugin is an interface to **NMOS.NET**, a Software-as-a-Service product. When configured, the site loads scripts and a stylesheet from `https://nmos.net` and may send crawler / technical visit data to NMOS.NET for analytics.

By installing this plugin and entering your tracking ID, you authorize the plugin to contact NMOS.NET as described above. No data is sent until a tracking ID is saved.

== Installation ==

1. Install from Plugins → Add New (search “NMOS Crawl Tracking”) or upload the plugin folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`.
2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.
3. Open **NMOS Tracking** in the WordPress admin sidebar and paste your tracking ID (`nmos_…`).
4. Save. Use **Check** in the NMOS dashboard to verify the install.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Where do I find the tracking ID? =

In the NMOS.NET dashboard, open **My Websites**, select your site, and copy the meta tag or tracking ID.

= What data is sent to NMOS.NET? =

Technical and crawler-related visit data used for crawl analytics (for example user-agent and page URL context collected by the NMOS tracking script). See the [Privacy Policy](https://nmos.net/privacy) for details.

= Does this replace Google Analytics? =

No. NMOS focuses on crawler and bot traffic visibility, robots/sitemap/llms tooling, and install health — not general marketing analytics.

= Can I change the NMOS.NET server URL? =

No. The plugin always uses the official NMOS.NET endpoints (`https://nmos.net`).

= How do I contact the plugin author? =

Email help@nmos.net or visit https://nmos.net.
