Turn any post into a short narrated video, with captions, music and a picture for every scene, right from the block editor.

== Description ==

Your posts already tell a story. Ojelio turns one into a short vertical or square video, ready for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels or the post itself, without leaving WordPress.

Open the Ojelio panel beside a post, choose the format and the length, and press **Create video**. Ojelio reads the post's text and pictures in order, writes a short script (or reads your text word for word), records a natural voice, draws a picture for every scene in your style, and adds captions and music. When the video is ready, the plugin saves the MP4 to your Media Library, and **Insert into post** puts it where you want it.

= What you can do =

* Make a video from the block editor's **Ojelio** panel, or from the **Posts** list without opening the editor.
* Choose vertical (9:16) for Shorts, TikTok and Reels, or square (1:1) for feeds.
* Choose **Adapted** (a short script written from the post for the length you choose) or **Exact** (the post's text, read as it is).
* Pick the language (English or Brazilian Portuguese), the narrator, the style and the music; or let your Ojelio brand kit fill them in.
* Review and edit the script in Ojelio before the video is made, if you want to.
* Keep the finished MP4 in your Media Library, and insert it into the post as a Video block.
* Set defaults for the site: the format, language and length every new video starts with.

= How it works =

The video is made by Ojelio, an online service, so you need an Ojelio account. The free plan makes 5 videos a month of up to 60 seconds, with "Made with Ojelio" on them, and needs no card. Paid plans remove the mark or put your own logo there, and make longer videos. Videos made from WordPress use your workspace's credits, like any other. See [plans and prices](https://ojelio.com/#pricing).

Connecting is one click: in **Settings → Ojelio**, press **Connect to Ojelio** and approve the site on ojelio.com. There is no key to copy. Only administrators can connect a site, and either side can disconnect it at any time.

Use only posts you have the rights to: the plugin asks you to confirm it before each video.

Ojelio is made by Udooku LLC.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to **Ojelio** (https://ojelio.com), the service that makes the videos. Without it the plugin does nothing. It talks to Ojelio only after an administrator connects the site, and only for the actions below.

* **Connecting the site** (Settings → Ojelio → Connect to Ojelio): your browser opens ojelio.com with the site's name, its address and the address to return to. After you approve, the site exchanges a one-time code with Ojelio for its own access token, and tells Ojelio the address where it can be told about finished videos.
* **Making a video** (Create video): the site sends Ojelio the post's title, its text, the addresses and descriptions (alt text) of its pictures, the post's address once it is published, and the choices you made (format, length, language, narrator, style, music). Ojelio fetches the pictures from those addresses.
* **Following a video**: the site asks Ojelio for the video's progress (more often while the editor is open), for the choices it offers (narrators, styles, music) and for the connection's state. While a video is being made or not yet saved, it also checks every five minutes through WP-Cron, which is how a site that Ojelio cannot reach from the internet hears about finished videos.
* **Saving the video**: when a video is ready, Ojelio tells the site at its own address (a request signed with a secret only the two share), and the site downloads the MP4 and its still picture from Ojelio's file storage into the Media Library.
* **Disconnecting**: the site tells Ojelio to end the connection.

Every request carries the site's access token and a user agent with the plugin's version and the site's address. Ojelio keeps the content it receives to make and keep your videos, as its Privacy Policy describes.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need an Ojelio account? =

Yes. The videos are made by Ojelio's service. The free plan makes 5 videos a month, no card needed.

= What does it cost? =

The plugin is free. Videos use your Ojelio workspace's credits: the free plan includes 5 videos a month, and paid plans include more. See https://ojelio.com/#pricing.

= Which posts can become videos? =

Posts, pages and any public post type that uses the editor. The text of paragraphs, headings, lists and quotes is read in order, with the post's pictures (up to 10) where they are. Pictures that Ojelio cannot fetch from the internet (on a local or private site) are left out, and the panel says so.

= Which languages? =

Videos can be made in English (US) or Portuguese (Brazil). The plugin itself is in English, and its translations come from [translate.wordpress.org](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/ojelio/), where anyone can help.

= Where is the video kept? =

In your Media Library, as an MP4, once it is ready; also in your Ojelio workspace. If your site cannot save it (a security plugin or the host blocks MP4 files, or the disk is full), the video stays in Ojelio with a link to download it.

= My site is not reachable from the internet. Does it work? =

Yes. Ojelio cannot tell such a site that a video is ready, so the site checks by itself every five minutes while a video is being made. Pictures on the site cannot be fetched by Ojelio and are left out.

= Can I review the script first? =

Yes. Tick "Review the script before the video is made" in the panel; the video waits until you approve the script in Ojelio.

2. The finished video, already in the Media Library, one click from the post.

4. Creating a video from the Posts list, without opening the editor.

== Development ==

The editor's scripts in `build/` are made from the source in `src/` with esbuild (`scripts/build.mjs`): run `npm install`, then `node scripts/build.mjs` (or `node scripts/build.mjs --watch`). The build is not minified.
