Privacy-friendly content analytics: daily views per post and page. No cookies, no IP addresses stored, works with page caching.

== Description ==

See which posts and pages people actually read, right inside your WordPress dashboard — without Google Analytics, without cookie banners and without sending anything to a third party.

= How it counts =

* A tiny script (well under 1 KB) tells your own site that a post was viewed. Because it runs in the visitor's browser, it keeps counting even when your pages are served from a cache.
* Each view adds one to a daily counter for that post. That is all that is stored: no IP address, no cookie, no visitor ID, nothing that identifies a person.
* Logged-in editors and known bots are not counted.

= The report =

Dashboard → Content Analytics shows views per day and your most viewed posts for the last 7, 30 or 90 days.

== Privacy ==

The plugin stores only aggregated daily view counts per post in your own database. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses or personal data, and makes no requests to external services.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate the plugin.
2. Visit any post while logged out (for example, in a private window).
3. Open Dashboard → Content Analytics.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Why are my own visits not counted? =

Users who can edit posts are excluded, so your editing does not inflate the numbers. Test it logged out.

= Does it work with caching plugins? =

Yes. The counting happens in the browser, after the cached page loads.

= Do I need a cookie banner for it? =

The plugin sets no cookies and stores no personal data. Check your own legal obligations, but there is nothing from this plugin to consent to.
