62 Core Patterns plus 60 variations in your block inserter. Native blocks, your theme's colours, nothing locked.

== Description ==

Pattern Paste Block Patterns adds 62 Core Patterns to the block editor. Everything in it works fully: there is no licence key, no account and nothing held back behind a payment.

= 62 Core Patterns =

Complete sections built only from core blocks: navigation bars, heroes, features, timelines, team grids, FAQs, testimonials, statistics, logo rows, tables, calls to action, post lists, footers, contact sections, pricing, steps, a 404 page and more: 62 patterns plus 60 variations, 19 of them Folio's looks (below). Every other Styled look, with colours of its own, comes with Pattern Paste Pro. Find them in the inserter under Patterns, in the Pattern Paste Core category or their usual categories.

A Core Pattern states no colour and no font of its own. It uses your theme's colour palette and typography, so it looks like part of your site from the moment you insert it, and it needs nothing from this plugin once it is on the page.

= Folio, a whole site =

Folio is a free Pattern Set: 4 pages (Home, Work, About, Rates and contact) whose sections share one design language. Create a new page and choose "Folio: Home" or any of its pages to start with the whole page in place, or insert its sections one at a time from the Pattern Paste Folio category.

The pages leave out the navigation and footer, because your theme already puts its own around every page. To use Folio's, open the Site Editor, select your header or footer, and choose Replace: Folio's navigation and footer are offered there, and set once they appear on every page.

= The full library =

Both paid plans of Pattern Paste Pro put every Core Pattern and Styled look in this same inserter, and the top plan adds every Designed Pattern, from https://patternpaste.com/pricing/. Installing it takes over from this plugin and every page you built keeps working.

= Credits =

* The portraits and logo marks in `assets/images` are original works made for Pattern Paste. No real person or company is depicted. They are dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0 (https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/).
* The photographs in `assets/images` (the `wp-` files) come from the WordPress Photo Directory (https://wordpress.org/photos/) and are licensed CC0 1.0. They are bundled, resized and compressed, so nothing loads from the directory.

== External services ==

This plugin does not connect to any external service. There is no licence check, no update check of its own, no analytics and no remote code, and every script, style and image it adds (the photographs, the portraits and the logo marks) is bundled and served from your own site. Copying an image into your Media Library reads the bundled file; it makes no request.

== Installation ==

1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, search for "Pattern Paste Block Patterns" and choose Install Now. Or download the zip from WordPress.org, then go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the zip and choose Install Now.
2. Choose Activate.
3. Edit any page or post, open the block inserter (the + button) and choose Patterns. The patterns are in the Pattern Paste Core and Pattern Paste Folio categories, and in their usual WordPress categories.
4. Optional: Settings, Pattern Paste Block Patterns turns the patterns in the inserter on or off, and decides whether inserted images are copied into your Media Library.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need an account or a licence key? =

No. Everything in this plugin works without one, on as many sites as you like.

= Will it work with my theme? =

Core Patterns work in any block theme and take its colours and fonts.

= Does it add images to my Media Library? =

Yes, when you insert a pattern. Each photograph, portrait and logo mark a pattern uses is copied once into your Media Library from this plugin's own files, so WordPress can make its usual sizes and you can reuse or replace it like any upload. Nothing is downloaded. Inserting the same image again reuses the copy. The logo marks are copied the same way, as PNG images. Pages you already have are never changed. To stop copying, turn off Copy pattern images into the Media Library under Settings, Pattern Paste Block Patterns; inserted patterns then show the images from this plugin's folder. Deleting the plugin keeps every copy.

= What happens if I install Pattern Paste Pro? =

Activating it deactivates this plugin and your pages carry on unchanged. If a page still shows images from this plugin's folder, Pro offers to copy them into your Media Library; after that you can delete this plugin.

= What happens if I deactivate this plugin? =

Core Patterns you inserted are plain core blocks and stay exactly as they are.

= Where do I get help? =

In this plugin's support forum on WordPress.org.
