Turn website visitors into leads with a floating, story-style video reply widget. Video Q&A plus WhatsApp and click-to-call buttons.

== Description ==

**PopVid** adds a floating, story-style video widget to your WordPress site. Visitors tap a launcher, watch a short video answer, pick a follow-up question, and reach you on WhatsApp or by phone — all without leaving the page.

Everything is configured from a single live-preview admin panel: choose your design, drop in your videos, write your questions, and watch the phone + desktop preview update instantly. No license key, no account — install and go.

= Free edition includes =

* **Floating video widget** with a story-style launcher and full-screen player panel.
* **Up to 2 video questions** — each visitor taps a question and watches your video answer.
* **Teaser (launcher) video** that autoplays in the round button to catch attention.
* **WhatsApp + Click-to-Call buttons** with custom labels.
* **Live admin customizer** — real phone + desktop preview that updates as you type.
* **Brand, colours, font, headline & tooltip** controls.
* **Vertical (9:16) or horizontal (16:9)** video format.
* **Position, launcher size & behaviour** (autoplay sequence, repeat, auto-hide).
* Lightweight vanilla-JS front end — no jQuery, assets cache-busted automatically.

= Upgrade to PopVid Pro =

[PopVid Pro](https://wpopw.com/plugins/popvid/) unlocks the full toolkit for turning the widget into a lead machine:

* **50+ ready-made industry designs** (the free edition ships one).
* **Unlimited questions + drill-in sub-questions.**
* **"Call Me Back" lead capture** — visitors leave a phone number (all countries, auto dial code, live masking) behind your callback video. Requests are stored in your WordPress and emailed to you, with GDPR / CCPA / KVKK-ready consent.
* **Built-in statistics** — impressions, opens, plays, completions, click and conversion rates, 7-day trends and top questions.
* **Page-specific content** — different headline / videos / questions / design per URL.
* **Smart triggers** — auto-open on time delay, exit intent, scroll depth, or any click selector.
* **Targeting** — by URL, device and traffic source (referrer).
* **Business hours** — hide, disable, or switch the contact buttons to callback outside working hours.
* **GA4 + Meta Pixel** conversion tracking.
* **Cloudflare R2 / CDN hosting** — upload videos straight from the editor to your own bucket.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need a license or an account? =
No. The free edition works out of the box with no key and no external activation. A license is only needed for [PopVid Pro](https://wpopw.com/plugins/popvid/).

= Where do I host my videos? =
Any public HTTPS video URL works — the WordPress Media Library, a CDN, etc. Direct-to-Cloudflare-R2 uploading is a Pro feature.

= How many videos can I add in the free edition? =
Up to 2 question videos plus a teaser (launcher) video. Unlimited questions and follow-up sub-questions are available in Pro.

= Will it slow down my site? =
No. The front-end engine is a single lightweight vanilla-JS file with no jQuery dependency, and videos load on demand.

= Does it show a "Powered by PopVid" link? =
By default the free edition shows a small "Powered by PopVid" credit on the widget. You can turn it off any time under **PopVid → Affiliate**. If you keep it on and add your free affiliate code, the badge becomes your referral link and you earn a commission when someone you send buys a paid plan.

= Does it work with caching plugins? =
Yes. The widget renders server-side as a pure function of the request, so page caches stay correct.

= Does the plugin send any data to your servers? =
Only if you choose to. There are two separate, off-by-default options:

1. **Usage ping.** After activation we show a one-time notice asking whether you'd like to help improve PopVid. Only if you click "Sure, share" does the plugin send your site address (URL) and your WordPress + plugin version to api.wpopw.com — nothing else.
2. **Badge click counting.** The "Powered by PopVid" badge is a plain link and sends nothing by default. If you switch on click counting under **PopVid → Affiliate**, then when a visitor clicks the badge an anonymous ping (your site address and, if set, your affiliate code — no visitor or personal data) is sent to api.wpopw.com so those clicks show in your affiliate dashboard.

Both are opt-in, and neither collects visitor or personal data. The widget works fully with both turned off.

== Privacy ==

The free edition does not phone home unless you opt in, and there are two independent opt-ins, both OFF by default:

* **Usage ping** (see the FAQ) — transmits only your site URL and WordPress/plugin version to api.wpopw.com.
* **Badge click counting** — by default the "Powered by PopVid" badge is an ordinary outbound link that sends nothing. Only if you enable click counting does a badge click send an anonymous ping (your site address and optional affiliate code) to api.wpopw.com. No visitor data and no personal data are ever collected or sent by either option.

== External services ==

This plugin relies on the following third-party / external services. What each one is, what data is sent and when, and links to its terms and privacy policy are listed below. The two api.wpopw.com features are opt-in and OFF by default; Google Fonts is used to render the widget's typeface.

**Google Fonts** (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com)
The widget's text is displayed in a Google web font. On every page that shows the widget, the visitor's browser requests the selected font's stylesheet from fonts.googleapis.com and the font files from fonts.gstatic.com. As with any browser request, this exposes the visitor's IP address and user-agent to Google; the plugin itself sends no other data. This happens whenever the widget is displayed.

**PopVid usage ping** (api.wpopw.com) — optional, OFF by default
Only if the site administrator explicitly opts in ("Help improve PopVid"), the plugin sends your site address (URL) and your WordPress and plugin version numbers to api.wpopw.com so we can see which versions are in use and prioritise compatibility. It is sent once when you opt in, about once a day while the plugin is active, and once on deactivation. No visitor data and no personal data are sent. You can opt out at any time under PopVid → Affiliate. This service is provided by WpopW.

**PopVid badge click counting & affiliate registration** (api.wpopw.com) — optional, OFF by default
The "Powered by PopVid" badge is an ordinary outbound link and sends nothing by default. Only if you switch on click counting (PopVid → Affiliate) does a click on the badge send an anonymous ping to api.wpopw.com containing your site address and, if you have set one, your affiliate code, so the click can appear in your affiliate dashboard. In addition, if you enter an affiliate code, that code and your site address are sent once to api.wpopw.com when you save the settings, to register/activate the code. No visitor data and no personal data are sent. This service is provided by WpopW.
