Add your Ribbo AI agent to your WordPress site as a chat widget. Answer visitor questions around the clock and hand off to your team.

== Description ==

Ribbo AI Chat connects your WordPress site to an AI agent you build in [Ribbo](https://www.ribbo.ai/). Paste your agent's application id and the chat widget appears on every page of your site, with no code to edit.

Your agent answers from the knowledge you give it in Ribbo: your website, documents and FAQs. When a question needs a person, it can collect the visitor's details and hand the conversation to your team.

* Add the chat to every page by pasting one id
* The widget's colours, greeting, position and behaviour come from your Ribbo console, so changes there show on your site without touching WordPress
* Works with any theme
* Remove the chat at any time by clearing the id

A Ribbo account is required. You can create one at [ribbo.ai](https://www.ribbo.ai/).

== External services ==

This plugin connects to Ribbo, a service run by Ribbo AI, to show the chat widget. Without it the plugin has no function.

* What is loaded: on every public page of your site, the visitor's browser loads the Ribbo widget script from https://www.ribbo.ai/api/embed/application/widget, then the agent's chat settings and the chat window from www.ribbo.ai.
* What is sent: your agent's application id and the page's address when the widget loads. When a visitor uses the chat, the messages they type and any details they choose to share (for example a name, email address or phone number) are sent to Ribbo so the agent can reply and your team can follow up.
* When: data is sent only when a page with the widget loads, and messages only when the visitor writes in the chat. Nothing is sent from the WordPress admin, and nothing is sent until you save an application id.

== Installation ==

1. Install the plugin from Plugins, Add New, or upload the plugin folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, then activate it.
2. In Ribbo, open your agent and copy its application id from the website embed code (the value of `data-ribbo-widget-application-id`).
3. In WordPress, go to Settings, Ribbo AI Chat, paste the id and save.
4. In Ribbo, add your site's domain to the agent's allowed domains. The chat will not appear until you do. The settings page shows the exact domain to add.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need a Ribbo account? =

Yes. The plugin shows an agent you build and manage in Ribbo.

= I saved the application id but the chat does not appear. Why? =

Your agent only loads on domains you have allowed. Add your site's domain to the agent's allowed domains in the Ribbo console, then reload your site.

= How do I change the widget's look or greeting? =

Change them in the Ribbo console. The widget reads its settings from Ribbo each time it loads.

= How do I remove the chat from my site? =

Clear the application id in Settings, Ribbo AI Chat, or deactivate the plugin. Deleting the plugin also removes its saved setting.

= Does the plugin add a "Powered by" link to my site? =

No.
