**A convenient checkout experience**

Give your customers a straightforward way to pay for their orders using debit or credit cards.

Choose between two checkout experiences:

Both options allow you to accept payments without handling sensitive card information directly.

== External services and data sharing ==

This plugin connects to ShopWired Payments, an external payment processing service, to enable merchants to accept payments through WooCommerce.

The plugin communicates with:

https://swpcore.shopwired.io

When you connect your ShopWired Payments account, the plugin shares the website and connection information necessary to establish and maintain that connection. This includes the site's HTTPS URL, callback and event URLs, a one-time site proof and the permissions requested.

When a customer reaches checkout, the plugin may send order and customer information to ShopWired Payments to prepare a payment session. This can happen before the customer enters or submits their payment details.

This information can include the order reference, amount, currency, purchased products, tax and shipping costs, and the customer's name, billing address, email address and telephone number.

When a payment is submitted, the plugin exchanges the information necessary to process the transaction. It also authenticates requests using installation credentials and receives or retrieves payment status information so WooCommerce can update orders appropriately.

Customer card details are entered into a ShopWired Payments-hosted payment form and are not collected or stored by the plugin. The hosted form may load payment-processor software or redirect to a payment provider to complete the transaction.

Simply installing or activating the plugin does not send information to ShopWired Payments.

The plugin does not include advertising or usage telemetry. Its own JavaScript and CSS are bundled as readable source, and it has no private auto-updater.

== Upgrading from earlier private versions ==

If your old plugin uses the shopwiredpay-for-woocommerce directory, deactivate it before activating this shopwired-payments package. Never activate both copies. Keep the default preserve-data setting and back up before updating. Saved settings, encrypted connections, payment records and return links are preserved during the storage-prefix migration. If data conflicts or cannot be migrated, payment processing pauses with an admin notice; retry the update or contact support. Do not downgrade after migration. Previously cancelled orders are not automatically reopened.

== Data and uninstall ==

Encrypted installation credentials, one-off payment-session records and payment-event identifiers are stored locally. Deactivation stops plugin-side scheduled work but preserves connection and payment data. Uninstall also preserves data by default.

Data deletion is opt-in through the Uninstall data setting in WooCommerce > ShopWired Payments. If enabled, uninstall permanently removes the plugin's one-off payment-session records, shared event-receipt table, settings, pending connection state and encrypted credentials. Back up and reconcile orders first. WooCommerce financial records are not deleted by this plugin.

Historical recurring-payment tables from older versions are retained, even during opt-in deletion. The plugin does not operate or cancel existing subscriptions or other Core-managed collections. Do not upgrade a store with active ShopWiredPay subscriptions until they have been migrated or cancelled and reconciled. Uninstall never makes remote payment or cancellation changes.

The plugin adds suggested disclosure text to WordPress's Privacy Policy Guide. Store owners remain responsible for their privacy notice and the legal basis for sharing customer and order data.

== Trademarks ==

ShopWired and ShopWiredPay are marks of their respective owners. WooCommerce and WordPress are marks of their respective owners. This plugin's use of those names describes compatibility and does not transfer ownership of any mark.
