Bulk edit WooCommerce products by asking your own AI assistant. It proposes, you review every row and approve, and every change can be undone.

== Description ==

**Bulk edit WooCommerce products in plain words, with the AI assistant you already use.**

StoreEdit AI connects Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant to your shop as a careful helper. You say what you want: *"Raise the regular price of all shoes by 5%, except the ones on sale."* The assistant finds the products and prepares the change. Nothing is written yet. In your WordPress admin you see every product, its value now and the value it would get. You apply all of it, part of it, or none, and you can undo it later.

There is no AI model inside, no API key and no credits to buy. The assistant is yours, on your own subscription. The plugin is the safe door it works through.

= How it works =

1. **Ask.** Tell your assistant what to change, in your own words, in any language it speaks.
2. **Review.** Open the request in WordPress: what you asked, how it was understood, how many products would change, and every row with its value now and after. Untick what you do not want.
3. **Apply, and undo if you need to.** Approved rows are written in the background. Undo one product or the whole request, days later if you like.

= What you can change =

With no limit on products or requests, and no licence:

* Regular price and sale price, by a percentage or an amount, with sale dates
* Stock quantity and stock status
* Product categories: add or remove
* Product tags: add or remove
* Product titles, short descriptions and descriptions, each written by your assistant for that product

It works on simple and variable products: published ones by default, and drafts, pending or private ones when you ask for them.

= Things you can ask =

* "Put everything in Bags on sale at 20% off until 31 October."
* "End the sale on all shoes that are on sale."
* "Set every product in Clearance to out of stock."
* "Add the tag new-season to every bag."
* "Add everything tagged gift-idea to the Gifts category as well."
* "Rewrite the short description of every mug so it says what it is made of and how much it holds."

= Built so that nothing goes wrong quietly =

* Nothing changes without the approval of a person who can manage the shop. The assistant cannot approve, apply or undo.
* Every row is shown before it is written, with a tick box next to it.
* Apply in instalments if you like: what you leave unticked waits.
* Each row is checked again at the moment it is written. A product that changed since the preview is skipped, and you are told.
* Undo puts back exactly what was there, for one product or for a whole request.
* The history keeps every request: what was asked, who approved it, when, and what happened.
* The assistant signs in with OAuth to a limited account that reads products and proposes changes. It never sees customers, orders or payments, and you can revoke its access at any time.

= What it does not do =

* It does not create or delete products, and does not edit, crop or generate images.
* It does not read or change customers, orders or shop settings.
* It does not act on its own: no schedules, no automatic changes.

= StoreEdit AI Pro =

A separate, paid add-on applies the changes for which the assistant reads each product one by one: attributes, the move to the right category, SEO titles and meta descriptions (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress, The SEO Framework), product addresses (slugs), product images and product status. Without the add-on, such a request is still planned and shown to you in full, as a preview; it is not applied. Everything under "What you can change" works without it. The add-on is at [storeeditai.com](https://storeeditai.com/).

= Requirements =

WordPress 7.0 or later, PHP 8.1 or later, WooCommerce, and a shop that is online over HTTPS so that your assistant can reach it. Single sites only. The screens are in English and Greek.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate WooCommerce, then StoreEdit AI.
2. Open **StoreEdit AI** in the WordPress menu and copy the connection address shown under "Your assistant".
3. In your assistant, add that address as a custom connector (a remote MCP server).
4. Sign in to your shop when it asks, and approve the connection.
5. Ask the assistant for a change. Then open the request in WordPress, review it and apply.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need an API key, or do I pay for AI through the plugin? =

No. The plugin contains no AI model and calls none. You use your own assistant, with the account you already have there.

= Which assistants work? =

Any assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in. It was built and tested with Claude and ChatGPT.

= Can the assistant change my shop on its own? =

No. It can read products and propose a change. Applying needs your approval in WordPress, by a user who can manage WooCommerce.

= What can the assistant see? =

Products only: names, descriptions, prices, stock, categories, tags and attributes. Never customers, orders, payments or settings.

= Does the plugin add a user to my site? =

Yes, one. The first time you approve an assistant's sign-in, it creates the account `aicm-assistant`, with a role that can only read products and propose changes. A connected assistant acts as that account, never as you.

= Is there a limit on products or requests? =

No. Changes are applied in the background in batches, so large catalogues are fine. On our test shop one request with 12,596 changes was applied in 28 minutes and undone in 20.

= Does it work with variable products? =

Yes. On a product with variations, a price or stock change is made on the variations customers actually buy.

= What if a product changes between the preview and my approval? =

That row is not written. Each row is checked again at the moment it is applied, and the ones that no longer match are listed as skipped.

= Can I undo a change days later? =

Yes, from the request's page or the history. A product that someone changed in the meantime is left alone, and you are told.

= My assistant cannot sign in. What should I check? =

The sign-in needs two addresses under `/.well-known/` to reach WordPress. Some hosts stop them. The StoreEdit AI screen checks this and shows the exact rule to give your hosting provider.

= Does it work on multisite? =

Not in this version. Single sites only.

= Can the assistant add product images? =

Yes, from a web address: a new main image for a product, or more images at the end of its gallery. The shop fetches each image when the assistant proposes it and keeps it aside, outside your Media Library, until you approve; the preview shows it next to the image the product has now, with the address it came from. Use images your shop may use: your own, or your supplier's for that product. Applying it needs StoreEdit AI Pro; without it you see the preview. Images cannot be uploaded from your computer through the assistant, and the plugin does not edit or generate images.

= What happens to my data if I delete the plugin? =

Deleting it removes its own tables and settings, and the images it fetched for requests that were never approved. Your products, and the images you approved, stay as they are.

== Screenshots ==

1. The preview: every product, its value now and what it would become. Untick any row, then apply.
2. What you asked, how your assistant summed it up, how the shop understood it, and how many products would change.
3. After applying: what happened, with undo for the whole request or for one product.
4. The requests your assistant prepared, waiting for your approval.
5. The history: every request, when it was made and what became of it.

== External services ==

The plugin calls no AI service and sends your catalogue nowhere on its own.

When you connect an assistant, two things happen, both started by you:

* **The assistant reads your products through the connection.** The assistant you chose (for example Claude, by Anthropic, or ChatGPT, by OpenAI) asks your shop for product data: names, descriptions, prices, stock, categories, tags and attributes. It receives what it asks for, for the requests you make. It never receives customer or order data. What the assistant's provider does with it is under that provider's terms and privacy policy: Anthropic ([terms](https://www.anthropic.com/legal/consumer-terms), [privacy](https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy)), OpenAI ([terms](https://openai.com/policies/terms-of-use/), [privacy](https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/)).
* **Images are fetched from the addresses your assistant gives.** When your assistant proposes a product image, your shop downloads it from the web address the assistant named (for example your supplier's site), to show it to you before you approve it. Only that address is requested, through WordPress's own safe request, which refuses addresses on your own network. Like every request WordPress makes, it carries your WordPress version and your site's address; nothing else about your shop is sent. What that site does with the request is under its own terms.
* **Sign-in reads the assistant's public description.** When an assistant starts the OAuth sign-in, your shop fetches that app's public client metadata document from the address the app gives (for example on claude.ai or chatgpt.com), to show you its name and to check where the sign-in is sent. Only that address is requested. Like every request WordPress makes, it carries your WordPress version and your site's address; nothing else about your shop is sent.

== Changelog ==

= 0.3.10 =
* In a request's preview, each product's link opens in a new tab, so the request's page stays where it was.

= 0.3.9 =
* Product images, made safer after an independent review: an image of more than 40 megapixels is refused when it is fetched; undo deletes only the images its own change added, and never one a post, a category or a page uses; the address shown for each image is always the one your shop fetched it from.
* The approval screen shows bigger thumbnails of the whole image, marks the images a gallery change adds, and shows where each image came from in short, linked.

= 0.3.8 =
* Titles and descriptions are free. Your assistant can rewrite product titles, short descriptions and descriptions, one text per product, and this plugin applies them, with the same preview, approval and undo. They needed StoreEdit AI Pro until now.
* Product images. Your assistant can give a product a new main image, or add images to its gallery, from a web address (for example your supplier's product page). The shop fetches each image when the assistant proposes it and checks that it is a real JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP image; you see it in the preview next to the image the product has now, with the address it came from. Only when you approve does that same file go into your Media Library. Undo puts back what the product had and deletes the added image if no product uses it. Applying it needs StoreEdit AI Pro 0.3.4; without it the request is shown as a preview.

= 0.3.7 =
* Updates reach your assistant without reconnecting: the tool no longer carries a fixed list of operation names, which assistants such as ChatGPT keep from the day they connected. After updating to this version, refresh or reconnect the assistant one last time.
* The connection reports the plugin's real version.

Earlier versions are in changelog.txt, in the plugin's folder.

== Upgrade Notice ==

= 0.3.0 =
If you used 0.2.x with a licence, install StoreEdit AI Pro as well: your licence, history and undo are kept.
