TheDock Media changelog: the 0.x versions, before the first release on wordpress.org (1.0.0). The current release is in readme.txt.

= 0.7.1 =
* A bulk optimization now pauses when TheDock Cloud stops taking files (free trial used, site not subscribed, monthly limit reached, or a key that isn't accepted) and asks how to continue: subscribe, reconnect, or carry on with this server for free. Subscribing or reconnecting resumes it by itself. New uploads are still optimized on this server right away.
* The plan status says what happened: "Cloud needs a subscription" or "Cloud monthly limit reached" instead of "Cloud key not accepted", and the free trial count no longer shows files left once it's used.
* A key that TheDock Cloud refused once is checked again every hour, so a brief problem on TheDock's side can't keep the Cloud off.

= 0.7.0 =
* Connect to TheDock: one button signs you in or up on thedock.app and brings back this site's own key. No more copying keys (pasting one still works).
* Each site has its own key, which only works from that site.
* When TheDock Cloud doesn't take new files (free trial used, site not subscribed, monthly limit reached, or a key from another site), new images are optimized on this server and one dismissible notice explains why, with a link to subscribe or reconnect. The plugin checks again every hour and goes back to TheDock Cloud by itself.
* Settings show your plan: free trial files left, or this month's files of your plan.
* Short outages of TheDock Cloud no longer count against an image's tries.

= 0.6.0 =
* Security: Authors can only optimize their own files; optimizing the whole library and stopping a run need an administrator. Every file and address coming back from TheDock Cloud is checked (https and public only, expected file names, real images and videos of the full size) before anything is written to your uploads, and an original is never replaced by an empty or broken file.
* Free on your own server: without a TheDock account, WordPress now resizes, compresses and converts images on this server with the plugin's settings (format, quality, largest size, replace originals). Library, Overview and bulk optimization work the same way.
* New Server screen and a Site Health check: which image library and formats this server has, the largest photo it handles comfortably, background tasks, limits and disk space, a speed test, a comparison with TheDock Cloud, and a report for support.
* Formats this server can't write fall back automatically (AVIF → WebP).
* Photos too big for the server's memory are stored as uploaded instead of failing the upload; ImageMagick gets a memory budget inside containers.
* Compare is part of TheDock Cloud; without it the Compare screen explains what it does. Setup's quality step makes its samples on this server, scores them ("Looks identical", "Very close"…) and opens a large side-by-side viewer.
* New setup in three steps. It starts with a live check of this server, shows the same upload handled here and on TheDock Cloud side by side, lists what TheDock Cloud would add on this server, and recommends one of the two. Quality samples are made on this server too. Settings → Processing shows both, with Disconnect for TheDock Cloud.
* The Dashboard widget shows your library at a glance: the share in good shape, a bar of what it is made of, what was saved and what is left to save. The share now reads 100% only when nothing is left to optimize.
* The "finish setup" notice can be dismissed.
* `wp thedock-media server [--speed]`.
* Requires WordPress 6.7 or newer.

= 0.5.3 =
* New Dashboard widget: shows how many images can still be optimized and how much that saves, with a one-click Optimize button, the progress of a running optimization, and images that need a look. It also tells you when setup isn't finished or TheDock Media is paused.

= 0.5.2 =
* Bulk optimization keeps TheDock busy without pauses: new images go out as soon as a slot frees up, instead of after the current batch has been applied.

= 0.5.1 =
* Bulk optimization runs as fast as TheDock has room for your site: all of it when the service is quiet, a fair share when it is busy. Each finished image starts the next one, so a run no longer slows down when you close the page.
* Fixed: an image could be submitted twice when two bulk steps overlapped, and a stopped run could restart.

= 0.5.0 =
* Video: uploads and existing videos become a web MP4 (H.264, plays everywhere), a smaller modern version (AV1, or VP9) and a poster image. Encoding runs on TheDock, never on your server.
* The standard video block and [video] shortcode offer the modern version first and fall back to the MP4; links to replaced originals are rewritten to the optimized file.
* Video settings: on/off, largest resolution (asked during setup), modern format and quality. A warning shows when your host's upload limit is too small for videos.
* Library, Overview and the Media Library show videos with duration, poster, issues (not for all browsers, heavy, too large, no poster), estimated savings and live progress.
* "Large file" vs "Settings changed": optimized images that are still heavy are explained instead of offered for a pointless re-run.

= 0.4.0 =
* New look, matching thedock.app: one "TheDock Media" menu with Overview, Library, Compare and Settings, in dark or light (toggle in the header).
* First-run setup: connect your key (checked straight away, with plain-language errors), pick a quality level using samples made from one of your own images, scan your library and optimize it in one go.
* Overview: how much lighter your images could be, what was found, live bulk progress and recent activity.
* Library: filters, search, selection with bulk optimize, live status per image.
* Compare: inline zoom viewer with minimap; versions labelled "Looks identical", "Very close" and so on; adopt a setting in one click.
* Settings rewritten in plain language, with an unsaved-changes bar.
* Media Library: styled status column and a TheDock Media panel in Attachment details (Optimize / Re-optimize / Compare).
* Old Settings → TheDock Media and Media → Media health links redirect to the new screens.

= 0.3.3 =
* Bulk optimization no longer marks images as failed when the service rate-limits: they wait and retry automatically.
* Background polling backs off on rate limits and polls each job at most every 15 seconds during bulk runs.
* Fixed a race where two simultaneous checks of the same finished job could leave an optimized image stuck as "queued".
* Images that are already being processed are not submitted a second time.

= 0.3.2 =
* Media health cards update live: images optimized one at a time (or new uploads) count immediately, no re-scan needed.

= 0.3.1 =
* Compare view: zoomable viewport (scroll, +/−, Fit, 1:1, double-click) with both images zooming and
  panning in sync, a visible divider line with a handle, drag to pan, fullscreen, keyboard shortcuts.
* Previews render at the full size visitors get (2560 px), so 1:1 shows real pixels.
* Clearer message when an image's original file is missing.

= 0.3.0 =
* Media → Media health: library overview (size, what visitors download, estimated savings, share
  optimized), per-image flags (huge, oversized, not web-ready, PNG photo, poorly compressed, missing
  sizes/files, older format, not optimized), filters, and Optimize / Preview per image.
* Optimize existing media: one click per image, "Optimize selected", or "Optimize all flagged" in the
  background with progress.
* "Try on an image" (Settings → TheDock Media): compare formats and compression on your own image,
  with size, savings, a similarity score and a before/after slider, before choosing.
* Optimization column in the Media Library list view.
* WP-CLI: `wp thedock-media audit [--flag=<flag>]`.

= 0.2.0 =
* Choose the output format (AVIF, WebP, JPEG, or keep) and compression (High, Balanced, Small, custom).
  The choice overrides the theme's format setting.
* TIFF uploads are optimized: converted to a web format with all sizes, the TIFF kept as the original.
* Optional "Replace originals" mode: only when the optimized file is smaller; TIFF print masters are
  kept unless explicitly included.
* Max image size setting.

= 0.1.0 =
* First release.
