WordPress SEO plugin with AI SEO: meta descriptions, schema, XML sitemaps, Search Console, llms.txt, AEO & GEO. Your AI SEO assistant runs it via MCP.

== Description ==

**[ThinkRank](https://thinkrank.ai/) is the AI SEO plugin for WordPress that your AI assistant can operate.** Ask Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor to write metadata, audit posts, fix schema, and run bulk SEO work on your site — in plain language, from the chat window you already use. Underneath sits a complete SEO plugin: meta tags (SEO titles and meta descriptions), real-time on-page content analysis, keyword optimization, schema markup and structured data, XML sitemaps, robots meta, canonical URLs, Open Graph and Twitter Cards, Local SEO, llms.txt, and Google Search Console + GA4 insights — built for Google and for AI search (AEO and GEO) alike.

Two things make ThinkRank different, and both are checkable:

* **Your assistant runs it directly.** A built-in, self-hosted MCP server connects your AI assistant — no companion plugin, no terminal. No other WordPress SEO plugin ships one.
* **Every AI feature is included at a flat price, with no credit meter.** Bring your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenRouter): no monthly AI credits to buy, meter, or watch expire — in free and in Pro alike.

Switching? The Setup Wizard **imports your data from Yoast SEO, Rank Math, AIOSEO, and SEOPress**. ThinkRank works where you build — **Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, Oxygen/Breakdance, and the Classic Editor** — and on multilingual sites running **WPML, Polylang or TranslatePress**.

= Run Your SEO From a Chat Window: MCP for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor =

ThinkRank's self-contained **Model Context Protocol (MCP) server** turns your AI assistant into an **SEO operator, not just an SEO copywriter**.

* **Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor** or any MCP-compatible AI assistant: Claude in one click through a guided OAuth 2.1 flow, others with an Application Password and ready-made configuration.
* **Ask for SEO in plain language:** "Write an SEO title and meta description for this post", "Which posts are missing SEO metadata?", "Add FAQ schema to this page", "Check Search Console opportunities for pages with high impressions and low CTR."
* **35+ SEO tools** exposed over MCP — metadata, schema, site identity, sitemaps, robots.txt and robots meta, image SEO, social meta, instant indexing, llms.txt, SEO scores and opportunities.
* **Safe by default** — off until an admin enables it, revocable in one click, with a connection health check and dry-run previews of SEO imports.

= Migrate from Rank Math, Yoast SEO, AIOSEO or SEOPress =

The Setup Wizard detects your current SEO plugin and imports metadata, schema, sitemap, image SEO and title-format settings from **Rank Math SEO, Yoast SEO, All in One SEO (AIOSEO), and SEOPress** — then deactivates the old plugin once its data is safely migrated.

Looking for a **Rank Math, Yoast SEO, AIOSEO or SEOPress alternative** because of upsell notices, metered AI credits or per-site pricing? This migration path is built for exactly that switch.

= AI SEO Metadata Generator: Meta Tags, SEO Titles and Meta Descriptions =

* AI-generated SEO titles and meta descriptions for posts, pages, products, and custom post types, written for search snippets and click-through rate.
* Live SERP preview, one-click apply, and fully editable fields.

= SEO Content Analysis, Focus Keywords and Keyword Optimization =

* Real-time on-page SEO content analysis with a 13-factor SEO score.
* Focus keyword tracking (up to 5 focus keywords per post) with cannibalization warnings.
* Recommendations for titles, meta descriptions, headings, links, readability, and structure — with one-click "Apply" and **"Explain with AI"**.
* **Bulk SEO Optimization** — fix titles, descriptions, and keywords across many posts from one screen.

= Site SEO Analyzer: Whole-Site Audit With No Google Connection =

* The Site SEO Analyzer is a crawl-free, whole-site SEO audit with a **0–100 score and letter grade** across Basic SEO, Advanced SEO, Content, Performance & Technical, and Security.
* "How to fix" guidance that deep-links to the relevant setting — works on staging, new sites, and client audits.

= Schema Markup and Structured Data for Rich Snippets =

* Valid JSON-LD for Organization, Website, Article, FAQ, HowTo, VideoObject, Review, Local Business, and Breadcrumb schema, so search engines can show rich results.
* Out-of-the-box schema on posts, pages, CPTs, archives, and the homepage, validated before it reaches Search Console.
* **Import Schema From Any Website** to start from a competitor's structured data.

= SEO Blocks: FAQ, HowTo and Table of Contents =

* **FAQ, HowTo and Table of Contents blocks** that output FAQPage, HowTo and SiteNavigationElement structured data automatically and work without JavaScript — with **Elementor widgets** for all three.

= Works With Every Page Builder =

Page builders store content outside `post_content`, so many SEO plugins score a 1,500-word page as empty. ThinkRank reads each builder's stored content and adds its SEO panel inside **Gutenberg** (with a live SEO score badge), **Elementor**, the **Divi** Visual Builder, **Oxygen / Breakdance**, and the **Classic Editor**.

= Multilingual SEO for WPML, Polylang and TranslatePress =

SEO fields in the WPML Translation Editor, correct `og:locale` alternates, hreflang only when WPML or Polylang isn't already printing it, and language-aware XML sitemaps — detected automatically, inactive on monolingual sites.

= XML Sitemap Generator and Instant Indexing =

* Basic, Complete, E-commerce, and Segmented sitemap modes with a real sitemap index, paginated child sitemaps and per-post-type controls — fast on large sites.
* AI-optimized robots.txt with automatic sitemap discovery.
* **Instant Indexing** — submit new and updated URLs to search engines through IndexNow.

= Built for AI Search: AEO, GEO and llms.txt =

**Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)** is being the answer ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews give; **Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)** is being the source they cite. ThinkRank ships the groundwork both depend on — no unverifiable ranking claims:

* **Structured data AI systems can parse**, validated before output.
* **Consistent on-page signals** — meta titles and descriptions, canonical URLs, robots directives and Open Graph that agree everywhere.
* **llms.txt generator** — a maintained Markdown index of your key content for AI agents and tools. Google has said llms.txt does not affect Google Search, so we ship it as infrastructure, not a ranking lever.
* **An AI assistant in the loop** — ask Claude or ChatGPT to review a page the way an answer engine reads it, and apply the fixes from the same chat.

= Google Search Console, GA4 and SEO Insights =

* Google Search Console clicks, impressions, queries, and keyword opportunities inside WordPress, plus a **Website Insights dashboard widget** for your last 30 days.
* Google Analytics 4 traffic and organic performance, PageSpeed Insights and Core Web Vitals monitoring, and scheduled email SEO reports.

= On-Page & Technical SEO: Robots Meta, Canonical URLs, Robots.txt, Breadcrumbs =

* Canonical URL controls, robots meta (noindex, nofollow) per post and globally, and robots.txt management kept in sync with the live file.
* Schema-enabled breadcrumbs, site identity, and title formats for posts, tags and archives.

= Open Graph, Twitter Cards and Social Media Previews =

* Open Graph metadata and Twitter Cards (X), with Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest social media previews you edit in real time.

= AI Content Brief Generator =

* A full content brief — outline, headings, entities, content gaps and competitor analysis — from a target keyword, plus a **complete article draft**, saved and exportable.

= Image SEO, Local SEO & WooCommerce =

* **Image SEO** — automated alt text written to the Media Library itself: bulk-fill missing alt text and auto-fill new uploads.
* **Local SEO** — business information, opening hours, Local Business schema, and a local sitemap.
* **WooCommerce SEO** — product metadata and an E-commerce sitemap.

= Role Manager: Team and Client Access Control =

A role × capability matrix controls which roles reach Essential SEO, AI Tools, and Settings — enforced on the REST API, not just hidden in the menu.

= ThinkRank Pro =

Upgrade to **ThinkRank Pro** for advanced SEO automation, also available to your AI assistant over MCP:

* **Redirect Manager & 404 Monitor** (301/302/307/308/410/451) and a **Broken Link Checker**.
* **AI Internal Linking** — relevance-ranked suggestions with one-click insertion.
* **Rank Tracker** — daily keyword positions from Search Console with history charts.
* **Custom Schema & Display Conditions**, **Advanced WooCommerce SEO** (GTIN/MPN/ISBN, variation offers) and **Multi-location Local SEO**.
* **News and Video sitemaps**, additional focus keywords, and **Advanced Analytics** for GA4 and URL index status.

= Why Choose ThinkRank? =

* The only WordPress SEO plugin your AI assistant can operate directly, through a built-in MCP server
* AI SEO titles and meta descriptions, schema markup and structured data, XML sitemaps, robots.txt and llms.txt in one plugin
* A Site SEO Analyzer that needs no Google connection, and accurate SEO scores on Elementor, Divi and Oxygen/Breakdance pages
* AEO and GEO groundwork for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews
* Multilingual SEO with correct hreflang for WPML and Polylang
* One-click migration from Rank Math, Yoast SEO, AIOSEO and SEOPress
* Built for bloggers, publishers, agencies, WooCommerce stores and teams that work through an AI assistant

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= What is ThinkRank? =

ThinkRank is an AI SEO plugin for WordPress that helps manage metadata, on-page SEO, technical SEO, schema markup, XML sitemaps, robots meta, canonical URLs, Open Graph social meta, Google Search Console insights, GA4 analytics, llms.txt, and AI-powered SEO recommendations. It also includes a built-in MCP server so AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can help run SEO tasks in plain language.

= What is the ThinkRank MCP server? =

The ThinkRank MCP server is a built-in Model Context Protocol server that lets compatible AI assistants connect to your WordPress site and work with ThinkRank's SEO tools. After authorization, your AI assistant can help generate metadata, review SEO opportunities, work with schema, manage llms.txt, inspect SEO scores, and guide optimization workflows — without constant dashboard switching.

= How do I connect ThinkRank to Claude? =

Enable the MCP server in ThinkRank, copy your site's MCP URL, add it to Claude, and approve the connection through the guided authorization flow. ThinkRank uses an OAuth 2.1 flow with PKCE protection, so you don't need to manually copy API keys into Claude for the standard connection.

= Does ThinkRank work with ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients? =

Yes. ThinkRank is designed for MCP-compatible clients. Claude has a guided one-click-style setup, and ChatGPT, Cursor, and other compatible tools can connect using the Application Password fallback and ready-made configuration details provided by ThinkRank.

= Is the MCP connection secure? =

Yes. The MCP server is off by default, admin-controlled, and designed for authorized users only. Connections are tied to WordPress authorization and Application Passwords. If you delete the connected Application Password, access is revoked immediately.

= Does ThinkRank work with Elementor, Divi and Oxygen? =

Yes. ThinkRank adds a native SEO panel inside the Elementor editor, the Divi Visual Builder, and the Oxygen/Breakdance builder, alongside the Gutenberg launcher and the Classic Editor metabox. Just as importantly, ThinkRank reads the content those builders store outside `post_content`, so SEO scoring, bulk optimization, the post-list SEO column, and AI assistants analyze the real page content instead of reporting a builder page as empty.

= Does ThinkRank support WPML, Polylang and TranslatePress? =

Yes. ThinkRank detects WPML and Polylang automatically. SEO fields appear in the WPML Translation Editor, each translated page advertises its own `og:locale` and links to its alternates, XML sitemaps cover every language, and hreflang tags are only added when your multilingual plugin isn't already printing them — so you don't end up with two competing sets. On monolingual sites the integration stays completely inactive.

= What is the Site SEO Analyzer? =

The Site SEO Analyzer is a crawl-free, whole-site audit that gives your site a 0–100 score and a letter grade without requiring a Google connection. It runs checks across Basic SEO, Advanced SEO, Content, Performance & Technical, and Security, and shows per-category results with "how to fix" guidance that deep-links to the relevant setting.

= Can I control which team members access ThinkRank? =

Yes. The Role Manager lets you decide which roles can access Essential SEO, AI Tools, and Settings, using a role × capability matrix. The rules are enforced on ThinkRank's REST API as well as in the admin menu, so access is genuinely restricted rather than just hidden.

= Do I need an AI API key to use ThinkRank? =

You don't need an AI key for every core SEO feature. Metadata fields, schema controls, XML sitemaps, robots meta, canonical URLs, breadcrumbs, Open Graph, the Site SEO Analyzer, multilingual output, page-builder integrations, and Search Console/GA4 connections work without AI generation. AI-powered features — AI metadata generation, content briefs, AI insights, and generative MCP tools — require your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or OpenRouter API key.

= Which AI providers and models does ThinkRank support? =

ThinkRank supports OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and OpenRouter. Model availability depends on your provider account and configured API key.

= Does ThinkRank generate SEO titles and meta descriptions? =

Yes. ThinkRank can generate SEO titles and meta descriptions with AI and lets you edit them before publishing, across posts, pages, products, and supported custom post types.

= Does ThinkRank include SEO content analysis and focus keywords? =

Yes. ThinkRank includes real-time SEO content analysis and focus keyword optimization so you can see how well your content targets important search terms and improve title, description, headings, structure, and keyword usage before publishing.

= Does ThinkRank generate schema markup? =

Yes. ThinkRank generates JSON-LD schema markup and structured data for Organization, Website, Article, FAQ, HowTo, VideoObject, Review, Local Business, and Breadcrumb schema, and includes Gutenberg blocks for FAQ, HowTo, and Table of Contents that output FAQPage, HowTo, and SiteNavigationElement structured data. Schema markup helps search engines understand your content and can support rich snippets.

= Does ThinkRank create XML sitemaps? =

Yes. ThinkRank includes an XML sitemap generator with Basic, Complete, E-commerce, and Segmented modes, plus a real sitemap index with paginated child sitemaps, controls for post types, and sitemap discovery through robots.txt.

= What is llms.txt and why does ThinkRank support it? =

llms.txt is an emerging convention: a Markdown index of your important content, kept at a fixed URL, that AI coding agents and agentic tools read to discover site content. ThinkRank generates and maintains it automatically. To be straight with you: Google has said llms.txt does not affect Google Search or AI Overviews, and we don't claim it earns AI citations — it is useful infrastructure for AI tooling, and that is the claim we stand behind.

= Does ThinkRank work with Google Search Console and GA4? =

Yes. ThinkRank connects with Google Search Console to show clicks, impressions, queries, and keyword opportunities inside WordPress — including a dashboard widget with your last 30 days of traffic — and supports GA4 for traffic and organic-performance insights.

= Does ThinkRank support Open Graph, canonical URLs and noindex? =

Yes. ThinkRank includes Open Graph and social meta controls for Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and X/Twitter, plus canonical URL controls and robots meta settings such as noindex and nofollow.

= Is ThinkRank a Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress alternative? =

Yes. ThinkRank covers the core SEO those plugins cover — metadata, schema, XML sitemaps, robots meta, canonical URLs, Search Console and GA4 insights — plus two things they don't sell at any price: an AI-assistant connection that operates the plugin directly, and AI features at a flat price with your own key instead of metered credits. The Setup Wizard imports your existing Rank Math, Yoast, AIOSEO, or SEOPress data and can deactivate the old plugin once migration completes.

= Can I migrate from AIOSEO or SEOPress? =

Yes. ThinkRank's Setup Wizard imports supported SEO data from All in One SEO (AIOSEO) and SEOPress, along with Rank Math and Yoast SEO — including title formats, Knowledge Graph details, role permissions, author archive settings, IndexNow keys, breadcrumb settings, and social defaults.

= Does ThinkRank include a redirect manager, 404 monitor, or internal linking? =

Redirect management, 404 monitoring, the broken link checker, and AI internal linking are available in ThinkRank Pro. The free plugin shows these sections with an option to upgrade.

= Does ThinkRank help with WooCommerce and Local SEO? =

Yes. The free plugin supports product metadata, an E-commerce sitemap mode, Local Business schema, business information, and a local sitemap. Advanced WooCommerce product SEO and multi-location Local SEO are available in ThinkRank Pro.

= Will ThinkRank conflict with my current SEO plugin? =

For best results, use only one primary SEO plugin at a time — running two can create duplicate meta tags, duplicate schema, conflicting robots meta, and sitemap confusion. ThinkRank's migration workflow imports supported data and can deactivate the previous SEO plugin when migration is complete.

= Who is ThinkRank for? =

WordPress site owners, bloggers and publishers producing content at scale, SEO professionals and agencies managing client sites, WooCommerce stores and local businesses, and teams that run their work through an AI assistant.

= Is ThinkRank free? =

Yes, ThinkRank is a free WordPress SEO plugin with bring-your-own-key AI features — your AI provider usage is billed by the provider you choose, giving you direct control over model, cost, and privacy. There are no ThinkRank AI credits to buy and no monthly meter, in free or in Pro. ThinkRank Pro adds advanced automation such as the redirect manager, 404 monitor, internal linking, and rank tracker.

== External services ==

Core SEO features need no external service. Each service below is contacted only when you use or switch on the feature that needs it — never to license or unlock ThinkRank features.

= AI providers: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenRouter =

For AI features: metadata and content brief generation, AI insights, "Explain with AI", image alt text, and the generative MCP tools. Only providers you add an API key for are contacted. ThinkRank sends that key and the content the task needs (such as a post's title and content, your prompt, or image data) when you run an AI action, or in the background for automatic AI features you switch on.

= Google APIs: Search Console, Analytics Data, PageSpeed Insights, OAuth =

After you connect Google or add a PageSpeed Insights key, ThinkRank sends your access token or API key, your Search Console or GA4 property, and page URLs to test, to www.googleapis.com and analyticsdata.googleapis.com — when you open analytics or performance screens or the dashboard widget, and when scheduled reports or checks run. = WP Insights usage tracking (send.wpinsight.com, opt-in) =

Nothing is sent unless you opt in, from the admin notice or "Get Started" in the Setup Wizard. Then, on opt-in and daily after: site URL and name, admin email, WordPress, PHP and server versions, active and inactive plugins, active theme, the plugin's file path, which ThinkRank features you use, and a country on the first send. Optional deactivation feedback is sent too. The email may be used for ThinkRank news and offers. = ip-api.com country lookup =

Only on WP Insights' first send after opt-in: the IP address of that request (normally yours) is sent to look up a country name. Nothing else is sent. [Terms and privacy](https://ip-api.com/docs/legal)

= Websites you enter =

Content brief competitor analysis and schema import fetch the URLs you type in, from your server. Nothing else is sent to those sites.

= 2.6.0 =
Release Date: 2026-09-15

- New: A page now publishes every schema you deploy to it. Free sites were limited to two, and anything past that was silently left out of the page
- Changed: ThinkRank's admin screens and page-builder panels load their Inter font from your own site instead of from Google Fonts, so opening them no longer contacts a third party
- Changed: The readme now lists every external service ThinkRank contacts — the AI providers, Google, IndexNow, the ThinkRank connection service and opt-in usage tracking — with what is sent, when, and each service's terms and privacy policy
- Changed: The Email Reporting screen shows exactly what gets sent — every 30 days, to the site admin email, with every section — in place of the locked fields it used to show. Your report keeps going out as before
- Changed: The focus keyword field says plainly that a post takes up to five keywords, instead of showing a lock and an upgrade link
- Removed: Brand Visibility, which was already hidden, along with the Perplexity connection only it used. Nothing it stored is deleted
- Changed: If you use ThinkRank Pro, update it to 2.7.0 together with this release: automatic AI metadata, the GA4 tag installer, SEO insights and branded email reports now run inside Pro itself

= 2.5.0 =
Release Date: 2026-09-10

- New: The Site SEO Audit now scores your site for AI search. A new "AI Search (GEO)" category reports whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can crawl you, whether llms.txt is published, whether your pages carry FAQ or How-To structured data, and whether your writing is shaped the way AI answers quote from — a direct answer up top, question headings, lists and tables, enough depth, and a recent revision date. Blocked crawlers and a missing llms.txt each come with a one-click fix. Because the new category is scored like every other one, your overall audit score will move the first time it runs after this update
- New: Every audit finding now names the pages it is about. Instead of "7 of your 8 most recent pages do not open with a concise answer", you get the list, each title linking straight to its editor — for the AI Search checks, for missing meta descriptions, and for images without alt text
- New: Choose which AI crawlers may read your site. Eighteen crawlers — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Apple, Meta and more — each with its own switch and a plain description of what it does, written into your robots.txt inside a marked block that leaves everything you wrote there alone. Nothing changes until you switch something on, and the screen states plainly that blocking Google-Extended does not affect normal Google Search indexing
- New: Automatic nofollow and "open in a new tab" for external links, with an exception list for partners and affiliates that should keep passing link equity. Applied as the page renders, so your post content is never rewritten and switching it off restores exactly what you wrote
- New: A per-content-type matrix for your SEO automation. Turn meta tags, schema, Open Graph, Twitter cards, analytics, no-index and sitemap inclusion on or off for each post type, taxonomy, archive, search results and 404 page. Every switch starts on "Inherit", so a site that never opens the screen behaves exactly as before
- New: Beaver Builder support. The ThinkRank panel now opens inside the Beaver builder with your current SEO score on its toolbar, and FAQ, How-To and Table of Contents modules publish the same structured data their block, Elementor and Bricks counterparts do
- New: "Test Connection" now checks your AI model as well as your key, so a mistyped or unavailable model id is reported as exactly that instead of passing as a working connection
- Fixed: Saving the Posts or Pages SEO screen wiped the per-content-type switches you had set for that content type in the new matrix
- Fixed: The Site SEO Audit could quietly drop six of its AI Search checks — and report a higher overall score — on a site with content that is not valid UTF-8, usually the legacy of an old import
- Fixed: Turning schema off for products removed WooCommerce's own product structured data too, leaving the page with none at all
- Fixed: Turning a content type's sitemap off left its sitemap file published and still listed in your sitemap index
- Fixed: Saving the Robots.txt screen without editing it switched your site to a manually written robots.txt for good, so later changes — a new sitemap, the AI crawler rules — stopped reaching /robots.txt
- Fixed: If the Link Attributes screen failed to load, the next keystroke saved empty settings over your stored exception list
- Fixed: Asking an AI assistant to change your crawler rules updated the settings but not the served robots.txt file

= 2.4.0 =
Release Date: 2026-09-08

- New: FAQ, How-To and Table of Contents elements for Bricks Builder. A Bricks page can now publish the same FAQ, HowTo and navigation structured data a block or Elementor page already could, with the same markup and styling, so a page built either way looks identical to visitors and to search engines
- New: Breadcrumbs can follow your SEO titles. Turn on "Use SEO Titles in Breadcrumbs" and every post and category crumb is labelled with the SEO title you set for it, so the trail under a search result matches the result itself. It is off by default, so an update never rewrites an existing trail
- New: Your SEO score now rates Core Web Vitals and Mobile Experience from real measurements instead of awarding both in full to every site. A site measured as slow now scores lower than a fast one, the failing metric is named in the advice, and a site nothing has measured yet keeps the benefit of the doubt rather than being marked down
- New: The XML Sitemap screen now tells you when automatic regeneration has failed, fallen behind, or cannot run because WP-Cron is disabled — instead of the sitemap silently going stale — and rebuilds an overdue sitemap on the next admin visit when the schedule never fired
- Fixed: On a Bricks page, ThinkRank published a second FAQ block of structured data beside the one Bricks publishes itself, published questions from a FAQ block left behind in the editor that no visitor can see, and took descriptions and scores from that hidden content instead of the page Bricks actually renders. Pages that print the post body through a Bricks dynamic tag are read correctly too
- Fixed: Your favicon was declared at every size at once, so a large upload was served as a 32-pixel tab icon. ThinkRank now creates the sizes the browser asks for and each icon is genuinely the size it claims — a 32x32 tab icon dropped from 135 KB to under 1 KB on a test site. Sites with a favicon already set get the smaller icons on update, with no re-save
- Fixed: A page that became a 404 after WordPress had already matched a post — the ordinary way a plugin refuses a URL — kept printing that post's meta description, keywords and social descriptions on the error page
- Fixed: A breadcrumb crumb rendered blank between its separators when the SEO title held only spaces, instead of falling back to the post or category name
- Fixed: A video swapped in a page-builder widget — YouTube changed to a self-hosted file, or the reverse — still advertised the video you replaced, including in the video sitemap
- Fixed: The Site SEO Audit reported "structured data is configured for your content" on a site with schema switched off and emitting none, and its one-click fix could never be reached
- Fixed: An export file carried your IndexNow key, and restoring one deleted the receiving site's Google Search Console and Analytics connection along with its Pinterest, Instagram and TikTok verification. Secrets are stripped from every part of the file now, and the receiving site keeps its own
- Fixed: "Generate Sitemap" reported success on a site it could not write to, and cleared the recorded failure while doing it, so a broken sitemap looked healthy
- Fixed: A PageSpeed audit that failed to run was recorded as a score of zero, which cost every post on the site its full mobile score on the strength of a measurement that never happened
- Fixed: Admin pages and the sitemap screen's own requests could sit waiting while a sitemap was rebuilt in the background. The page is returned first now, and only signed-in requests trigger a rebuild

= 2.3.0 =
Release Date: 2026-09-06

- New: Bricks Builder support. ThinkRank's SEO panel now opens inside the Bricks builder, the builder toolbar shows your current SEO score, and analysis reads the content you actually built — including copy stored in Bricks components, content templates and dynamic data tags — instead of scoring the page as empty
- Fixed: Bricks, Elementor, Divi and Oxygen template post types no longer get an SEO metabox they cannot use. Global SEO already refused them, so a template offered per-post SEO fields that went nowhere
- Fixed: The Usages page showed a cost that was cut short mid-number, so "$0.0377" read as "$0...."
- Fixed: The Usages page invented a trend on "All time" — every record you had ever created was compared against an arbitrary month and reported as a large increase. When there is no earlier period to compare against, nothing is claimed
- Fixed: A drop to zero AI usage was shown as no change at all, on both the AI and the SEO cards, so a month where usage collapsed looked identical to a flat one
- Fixed: The Usages page had two reporting-period selectors, one per tab, which could disagree with each other while showing the same data. There is now one, beside the tabs, and switching tabs is remembered in the address bar so the browser Back button works
- Fixed: "Success Rate" was not a measurement — it could only ever read 100% or 0% — and has been removed rather than left as a number that means nothing
- Fixed: The Usages record count said "Showing 29 total records" while the table showed 20, and provider names read "Openai" and "Openrouter". It now reports the range actually displayed, with the providers named properly
- Fixed: The provider cost breakdown listed all four AI providers at $0.0000 on a site that had never used AI
- Fixed: AI model names and the cost per action were wrong for several models, and long KPI labels such as "AVERAGE SEO SCORE" were clipped mid-word
- Fixed: The "AI referrals over time" chart was a bare shape — no dates, no values, no hover. It now shows the date range, states the peak and the day it fell on, and reveals the date and count for the day under your pointer
- Fixed: The AI referrals series counted days in fixed 24-hour steps and in a different calendar than the one it stored visits in, so on sites outside UTC a day of referrals could be counted in the total and missing from the chart, and a gap of three weeks was drawn like a gap of one day
- Fixed: The Crawlers panel reported "No llms.txt" on every site serving llms.txt without writing a file to disk — which is most of them — while the document was live
- Fixed: Scheduled SEO email reports were sent at the wrong time on any site not set to UTC, early or late by the site's offset, and drifted further with every send
- Fixed: A scheduled report with nothing to say was sent anyway — a page of zeroes and "data unavailable" notices, on every cycle, to sites with no Search Console connection. That period is now skipped and picked up next time

Release Date: 2026-09-02

- New: Take your ThinkRank data with you. A new Import / Export screen downloads everything ThinkRank stores — post, category, tag and author SEO data plus your settings — as one file, and loads it back on this site or any other. Choose JSON for a complete, restorable file, or CSV for a spreadsheet view of your post SEO data. Restoring shows you what the file contains and lets you decide what happens where this site already has a value, before anything is written. API keys are never written to the file
- New: Importing from another SEO plugin now has its own Migration screen, separate from Import / Export, so each is turned on and off on its own
- New: Both screens are off until you switch them on, in Settings. Neither is deleted or hidden permanently — switching one on brings its screen and menu item straight back
- Changed: A fresh install no longer arrives with an AI provider already chosen. ThinkRank asks you to pick one instead of warning that a key is missing for a provider you never selected
- Changed: The Anthropic provider is now named after the vendor, matching the other three, and the model list adds Claude Opus 5 and drops models the providers have withdrawn. A model you have already saved keeps working
- Fixed: Test Connection could not test the key you had already saved. Because a saved key is shown as a mask, the button stayed greyed out and the only way to verify an expired or revoked key was to paste the whole secret in again
- Fixed: Switching to a provider whose key you had already saved showed it as unconfigured — Save was refused and Clear API key claimed there was nothing to clear
- Fixed: Brand Visibility competitors and queries could not be saved at all. The save reported success and came back empty
- Fixed: The Posts, Pages and Categories switches on the XML Sitemap screen did nothing — a type you switched off was put straight back on the next save, and went on being generated
- Fixed: Changing the sitemap index mode left the previous mode's files in your site root, still served to search engines and never refreshed again
- Fixed: Turning Instant Indexing on erased the list of post types it applies to, leaving the feature enabled with nothing to submit
- Fixed: Unticking "Allow search engines to index this content" saved, showed as unticked, and did nothing — the page stayed indexable
- Fixed: Changing one robots directive reset the other five, so a site set to noindex became indexable because someone toggled a different switch
- Fixed: The Open Graph and Twitter master switches only worked on the homepage. Turning Open Graph off still emitted its tags on every post and page
- Fixed: The Pinterest preview promised up to 500 characters of description where only 160 are ever published
- Fixed: Image SEO printed your site name twice in alt and title text for any image outside a normal post — text widgets, page-builder blocks and site-editor templates. The format preview also disagreed with what was actually written: hyphens in filenames, separator spacing, and empty parts that are dropped
- Fixed: Author archive descriptions were measured in bytes and trimmed by words, so a description in Cyrillic, Greek or Arabic was cut far too short while a long English one was not trimmed at all
- Fixed: Turning author archives off issued a permanent redirect, so a visitor's browser could keep bouncing them to the home page even after you turned the archives back on. It is a temporary redirect now
- Fixed: The Site SEO Analyzer's grade could be up to an hour out of date. De-indexing your site still showed "Site is visible to search engines" and a grade A. The audit now refreshes when the settings it reports on change, and shows when it was generated
- Fixed: The Analyzer's "fix missing alt text" button re-walked the same first 50 images on every click, so any library over 50 images could never be finished
- Fixed: The Analyzer's structured data check could only ever pass, so its one-click fix was unreachable, and its tagline check missed the WordPress default tagline on any non-English site
- Fixed: Roles given access to only some ThinkRank areas hit permission errors on the areas they had been given, and could reach settings for sections they had not. The dashboard also failed to load for them
- Fixed: A role that cannot be granted ThinkRank access — one without the ability to edit posts — is now marked as such in the Role Manager instead of appearing to be granted access that never took effect
- Fixed: Site administrators whose role comes from a role-editor plugin or a multisite super admin account saw no ThinkRank menu at all, while still having full access over the API
- Fixed: With ThinkRank Pro installed but not yet licensed, the Traffic Overview card, the WordPress dashboard widget, four Analytics cards and the Content Brief "Insert" button offered to sell you Pro or showed a server error, instead of saying the licence needs activating
