Show genuine recent activity — orders, signups and reviews — as tasteful, fast, privacy-friendly notification bubbles. No fake data.

== Description ==

**TrueProof** turns the *real* activity on your site into social proof that converts. It shows tasteful notification bubbles of genuine recent orders, signups and reviews — automated word-of-mouth that helps new visitors trust you.

Brand-new site with no traffic yet? Use **Simulation Mode** to design, preview and test your notifications with clearly-labelled sample data, then flip to **Real Data Mode** the moment your first customers arrive.

= Honest by design =

* **Real Data Mode** pulls genuine events from WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, user registrations and approved comments/reviews.
* **Simulation Mode** is for previewing only and always shows a visible "Demo" badge — your visitors are never misled.
* Built to respect FTC and EU rules on endorsements and testimonials.

= Features =

* WooCommerce & Easy Digital Downloads integration
* New-user registration and recent-review notifications
* Name anonymisation (e.g. "Anna K.") for GDPR-friendly display
* Lightweight vanilla-JavaScript frontend — fast, no jQuery, no layout shift
* Position, accent colour, timing and per-page display controls
* Results cached server-side; events served over the REST API
* **No external services, no tracking, no phone-home, no ads**

= Privacy =

TrueProof only reads data that already exists on your own site (orders, users, comments) and never sends anything to third parties. Displayed names can be anonymised to first name + initial. See the FAQ for the exact data shown.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the `trueproof` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install via **Plugins → Add New**.
2. Activate the plugin.
3. Go to **Settings → TrueProof**, choose your mode (start with Simulation), pick your data sources, and save.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does it show fake data? =

Only if you explicitly enable Simulation Mode, which always displays a visible "Demo" badge. Real Data Mode shows only genuine events from your own site.

= What exactly is shown to visitors? =

A first name (optionally anonymised to first name + initial), an optional city/country, the action (e.g. "purchased …", "signed up", "left a review") and a relative time. No emails, no full addresses, no order totals.

= Does it slow my site down? =

No. The frontend is a tiny vanilla-JS script and events are cached server-side for a few minutes.

= Is it GDPR-friendly? =

Yes. Names can be anonymised, only first-party data is used, and nothing is sent to third parties.

= Does it require WooCommerce? =

No. WooCommerce and EDD are optional sources. Without them you can still show new registrations, comments/reviews, or Simulation Mode.
