A social wall for WordPress. One social feed for Google Reviews, YouTube and more.

== Description ==

Vitraz is a social media aggregator. It collects Google Reviews, YouTube, X, Bluesky, Mastodon and RSS into one social feed, lets you approve what appears, and lays it out as a social wall, a grid, a carousel or a strip of reviews. This plugin puts that feed on your WordPress site.

You design and moderate the feed in Vitraz. In WordPress you choose where the social wall sits. Publish a change in Vitraz and it shows on every page that carries the feed.

= Install the social feed =

1. Install and activate **Vitraz Social Feed**.
2. In Vitraz, open the feed, choose Embed, and copy the feed ID.
3. In the block editor, add a **Vitraz feed** block and paste the ID. A live preview of the social wall appears straight away.
4. Publish the page.

For the classic editor, or a page builder such as Elementor, Divi or Beaver Builder, paste this shortcode instead:

`[vitraz feed="YOUR-FEED-ID"]`

The feed ID is the code in the embed snippet that looks like `0b9d6c1e-2f4a-4d3b-9a7e-5c8f1e2d3a4b`.

= What the plugin adds =

* **A block** for the block editor, the Site Editor and block widget areas. Wide and full width work like any other block.
* **A shortcode** for the classic editor and page builders.
* **A loader that only runs where a feed is.** It is deferred, printed in the footer, and skipped on pages without a feed.
* **Nothing in your database.** WordPress stores the feed ID. Layout, sources and moderation stay in Vitraz, so there is no settings page.

The plugin adds the script itself, so WordPress cannot strip it for authors who are not allowed to post raw HTML. Cloudflare Rocket Loader, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Rocket, SiteGround Speed Optimizer, Autoptimize and Perfmatters are told to leave the loader alone.

= Where the posts come from =

Google Reviews, YouTube, X, Bluesky, Mastodon and any RSS feed. Mix them into one social wall, or keep a social feed per source. Which networks you can connect, and how many feeds and monthly views you get, depend on your Vitraz plan. There is a free plan.

== External services ==

This plugin shows content from Vitraz (https://vitraz.io), the service where you build and moderate your feeds. It needs a Vitraz account to be useful.

When someone visits a page that shows a feed, their browser loads the feed script and its stylesheet from vitraz.io and asks vitraz.io for the feed. That request carries the feed ID and your site's hostname, along with the IP address and browser user agent that every web request carries. Vitraz counts unique daily views against your plan with a one-way hash of the IP address and user agent rather than the address itself. The feed script sets no cookies.

Images and videos in a feed load from the network each post came from, such as YouTube, and YouTube videos play through youtube-nocookie.com.

The block editor loads the same script to preview a feed while you edit, and that preview counts as a view in the same way.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate **Vitraz Social Feed** from Plugins, Add New, or by uploading the zip.
2. In Vitraz, open the feed you want on the site, choose Embed, and copy the feed ID. A free account is at https://vitraz.io/sign-up.
3. In the block editor, add a **Vitraz feed** block where the social wall should appear and paste the feed ID. The preview is the live feed.
4. Publish the page. Posts, reviews and videos stay current from Vitraz. You do not edit the page again when something new is published.

For the classic editor or a page builder (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder), use the shortcode with your feed ID:

`[vitraz feed="YOUR-FEED-ID"]`

The feed ID looks like `0b9d6c1e-2f4a-4d3b-9a7e-5c8f1e2d3a4b`.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= How do I add the social wall? =

Install the plugin, copy the feed ID from the Embed dialog in Vitraz, and paste it into a Vitraz feed block. Page builders use the shortcode `[vitraz feed="YOUR-FEED-ID"]`. The steps are at the top of this page.

= Do I need a Vitraz account? =

Yes. The plugin shows a social feed you build in Vitraz. It does not connect to Google Reviews, YouTube or the other networks by itself. You can create a free account at https://vitraz.io/sign-up.

= Which networks can the social feed include? =

Google Reviews, YouTube, X, Bluesky, Mastodon and any RSS feed. One social wall can mix them, or you can keep a feed per source. What you can connect depends on your Vitraz plan.

= The block says there is no published feed =

A feed is visible only once it is published in Vitraz, and a paused feed is hidden. Publish the feed, then choose Check again in the block.

= Can I change the design from WordPress? =

Layout, colours, sources and moderation live in Vitraz, so one change updates the social feed everywhere it appears. In WordPress you choose where it sits: wide or full width, and the block's margins.

= I already pasted the embed code into a Custom HTML block =

It keeps working. To switch, select the block and choose Transform to, then Vitraz feed. A pasted `[vitraz]` shortcode becomes a block the same way.

= Will it slow my site down? =

The loader is a small deferred script that runs after your page has rendered, and the images in a feed load lazily. Pages without a feed do not load it at all.

= The feed doesn't show on my live site =

Purge your page cache after adding the feed. If it still does not appear, check that the feed is published in Vitraz and that a consent or security plugin is not blocking scripts from vitraz.io.

= Can I point the plugin at a staging copy of Vitraz? =

Yes. Define `VITRAZ_ORIGIN` in wp-config.php, for example `define( 'VITRAZ_ORIGIN', 'https://staging.example.com' );`, or use the `vitraz_social_feed_origin` filter.

== Screenshots ==

1. The social wall in the block editor. The preview is the live feed, and the sidebar links back to Vitraz, where you design it.
2. Paste the embed code or the feed ID. The block reads the ID out of either one.
3. The social feed on the front of the site. Publish a change in Vitraz and it shows here, with nothing to update in WordPress.
