Links your watch shop to Worldwatch: proves the site is yours, adds the Worldwatch tag, and connects WooCommerce.

== Description ==

Worldwatch is the marketplace and register for the watch trade. This plugin connects your WordPress site to your Worldwatch account.

* **Verify your website.** Worldwatch confirms that the site is yours, so your verified-dealer badge can show on it.
* **Measurement.** We collect data on your website to verify it and for analysis. Visitors see nothing, and your pages look and work the same.
* **WooCommerce.** When WooCommerce is active, connecting also connects your shop, so your watches can reach Worldwatch.

You need a Worldwatch account to connect. Some Worldwatch services, such as publishing your watches to sales channels, are part of paid Worldwatch plans.

Nothing is sent before you click Connect and approve. See "External services".

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate the plugin, or let the Worldwatch onboarding do it for you.
2. Go to Settings > Worldwatch and click Connect.
3. Sign in to Worldwatch and approve.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Can I try it in WordPress Playground? =

You can look around, but not connect: Playground runs only in your browser, so Worldwatch cannot reach it. Install the plugin on a website that is online to connect.

= Can I link each site of a multisite network? =

Each site with its own domain can be linked. Sites that share one domain in a subdirectory network share one Worldwatch site, so only one of them can hold the link.

= Does the plugin slow my site down? =

No. The plugin loads one small script asynchronously on your public pages. It does not change what visitors see.

= My security plugin blocks the connection. =

The settings page names the plugin in the way and the setting to change. For All-In-One Security it offers a button that allows Worldwatch; nothing changes until you click it.

= How do I stop it? =

Deactivate or delete the plugin. It ends the connection with Worldwatch, removes the measurement script, deletes the WooCommerce key it made and removes its own settings.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to Worldwatch (https://worldwatch.market). Nothing is sent before you click Connect and approve. Terms: https://worldwatch.market/legal/terms. Privacy: https://worldwatch.market/legal/privacy.

* **Worldwatch app** (worldwatch.market): when you click Connect, your browser opens the Worldwatch approval page with your site address, the plugin's public key, the plugin version and what the plugin can do on this site (measurement, WooCommerce). You sign in and approve there.
* **Worldwatch API** (api.chronos.worldwatch.market), after you approve:
  * The plugin completes the connection, and ends it when you deactivate or delete the plugin.
  * The plugin reports that it is still connected twice a day (WP-Cron), and at most every 12 hours when an administrator opens an admin page. While an administrator has Settings > Worldwatch open, it checks the status at most every 5 seconds. Each call is signed with the site's own key and carries no visitor data.
  * Worldwatch calls the plugin about every 6 hours to check the connection. The plugin answers with the site address, what it can do, and the names of known security, cache and consent plugins that can block the connection.
* **Measurement** (the Worldwatch collector): while the site is connected, visitors' browsers load a small Worldwatch script. For each page view it sends the page address and the time, and when the visitor leaves, how far down the page they scrolled and how long the page was open. It stores nothing on the visitor's device: no cookies and no local storage. Worldwatch uses this to verify the site and for analysis. The script stops when you disconnect.
* **WooCommerce** (on your own site): when WooCommerce is active and the site is verified, the plugin creates a WooCommerce REST API key with read and write access for Worldwatch and sends it to api.chronos.worldwatch.market over the signed connection. You approve this as part of the connection. The key shows under WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API, where you can revoke it. Deleting the plugin deletes the key.
