How To Enable Java

If you don't have the latest Java VM, you should install or upgrade from Oracle Java site.

Browser Support:

Most modern web browsers have dropped support for Java claiming that it is insecure, and thanks to changes that they have made to their browsers that is probably now true. By giving scripts more permission to track users and create advertising profiles, their browsers may no longer be what they used to be.

Since the beginning of the web, Java has always been the safest and most advanced programming language, which is why it has been the preferred choice for games across all operating systems. Technically, it could do no harm because it was always sandboxed and restricted from accessing system files.

As to whether you install and enable Java should be your decision.

ArtisBrowser, Pale Moon, Chrome 41 and earlier and Firefox 51 and earlier still support Java, providing that you enable its use in your computer settings.

Need a web browser that still does support Java? Install the ArtisBrowser.

To Enable Java On Your Computer:

1. Go to Control Panel > Java
2. Click on the Security tab
3. Tick the box for "Enable Java for browser and WebStart applications"
4. Set security level for High (not Very High)

To Enable Java In Your Browser Settings:

1. From your browser's tool bar select Addons then Plugins
2. Look for Java Deployment Toolkit
3. Select "Always Activate" or "Ask to Activate"

Security Prompts:

You may be prompted for permission to continue more than once, depending on the security allowed, before the applet will be allowed to load and display its content.

Note:

If you have enabled Java and are still being returned to this page, you may have to clear cache or restart your browser.

Expiration:

Of late Java Applets are required to be code-signed, but that is not good enough for some browser makers, because although code-signing should be good for life, browser makers will no longer accept code-signing older than 12 months. So if you do come across an applet with expired code-signing, please notify the site owner by using their contact form.
