WunderPaint — Third-Party Licenses
======================================

WunderPaint is licensed under the GNU General Public License,
version 2 or later (GPL-2.0-or-later); see license.txt for the full text.

This file lists the third-party components that are BUNDLED with and
distributed as part of the plugin, together with their licenses and
copyright/attribution notices. Every component is under a license that is
compatible with the GPL.

A note on Apache-2.0 components: the Apache License 2.0 is compatible with
GPL version 3 but not with GPL version 2 on its own. Because this plugin is
licensed as "GPL-2.0-OR-LATER", the "or later" option permits GPLv3, under
which the Apache-2.0 components below may be combined and redistributed.

Bundled machine-learning model

(no image data leaves the browser). Based on U^2-Net by Xuebin Qin et al.
Apache License 2.0. See assets/models/NOTICE.txt for attribution and a copy
of the Apache-2.0 license reference. Compatible with this plugin via the
"or later" clause of GPL-2.0-or-later (see the note above).

Bundled fonts (self-hosted in assets/fonts/)
--------------------------------------------

Ten families ship inside the plugin and are served from your own site:
Roboto, Open Sans, Inter, Montserrat, Poppins, Oswald, Bebas Neue, Anton,
Playfair Display and Lora. The woff2 files are sourced from the @fontsource
project (https://fontsource.org).

License: SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1 (OFL-1.1) for all ten. A copy of
the OFL is provided in assets/fonts/OFL.txt. Copyright belongs to the
respective font authors (see each family's project). The OFL is directly
  GPL-compatible.

The rest of the catalogue is not bundled. An administrator can download it
once to the site's own uploads folder, after which those families are served
locally as well, or opt into loading them from the Google Fonts CDN instead
(Settings, Fonts). Nothing is fetched from a font CDN unless that option is
switched on.

Bundled inside the free extensions (bundled-extensions/)
--------------------------------------------------------

Nineteen free extensions ship with the plugin. They are editor add-ons rather
than WordPress plugins and run entirely in the browser. Five of them carry
third-party code or data of their own, listed here because it travels in the
download. Where a licence asks for a notice next to the file, that notice sits
in the extension's own folder as well.

highlight.js 11.11.1 — syntax highlighting in Code Shot (the core plus thirty
language definitions)
BSD-3-Clause. Copyright (c) 2006 Ivan Sagalaev and other contributors.
  https://github.com/highlightjs/highlight.js
  Bundled into bundled-extensions/wpie-code-shot/extension.js.

including RoomEnvironment from three/examples/jsm
  MIT License. Copyright (c) 2010-2025 three.js authors.

  Bundled into bundled-extensions/wpie-origami/extension.js.

CC0-1.0 (public domain dedication). The Dark Sky Company.
  Bundled into bundled-extensions/wpie-mystic-studio/extension.js.

JetBrains Mono — the typeface Code Shot sets code in (Regular and Bold)

  https://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA00405). NASA imagery, public
domain, resized to 1200 px. File:
  bundled-extensions/wpie-mystic-studio/textures/moon.jpg, with TEXTURES.md
  in the same folder.

Star positions and constellation figures — Star Map Posters, and the zodiac
figures Mystic Studio draws from the same source
Yale Bright Star Catalogue, public domain. The constellation lines come from
  d3-celestial, BSD-3-Clause, Copyright (c) 2015 Olaf Frohn.
  https://github.com/ofrohn/d3-celestial
  Built into bundled-extensions/wpie-star-map/extension.js and
  bundled-extensions/wpie-mystic-studio/extension.js; Star Map Posters also
names both on screen next to the finished poster.

Oldenburg map excerpt (bundled-extensions/wpie-map-studio/oldenburg.json)
Map Studio ships one small area of real map geometry so that the studio has
something to show before any map is fetched. Derived from OpenStreetMap,
  (c) OpenStreetMap contributors, Open Database License (ODbL),
https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright. Map Studio carries the same credit
on screen whenever it draws a map.

Provided by WordPress at runtime (NOT bundled)
----------------------------------------------

The @wordpress/* packages (element, i18n, hooks, api-fetch, components, …) are
provided by WordPress itself at runtime and are not shipped in this plugin.
WordPress and these packages are licensed under the GPL.

Build-only tooling (webpack/@wordpress/scripts, ESLint, Jest, Playwright,
node-canvas, @fontsource sources) is used only to build the plugin and is not
distributed with it.

GeoNames place index (assets/geo/cities.json)
---------------------------------------------
Derived from GeoNames, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0
(CC BY 4.0), https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
Source files: cities15000, alternateNamesV2 and countryInfo from
https://download.geonames.org/export/dump/

Derivation: cities of 15,000 inhabitants or more, reduced to their names in
the seven languages this editor ships in (en, de, fr, es, it, nl, pt),
coordinates rounded to four decimals, plus country code and population.
Rebuild with `node tools/build-gazetteer.mjs`. The source files are NOT
downloaded at run time; the index is built once and shipped.

Map geometry is fetched at edit time through the plugin's server-side geo
proxy from OpenFreeMap and the OpenStreetMap Overpass instances, and is
(c) OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License (ODbL),
https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright. One small excerpt does ship with the
plugin as sample data; it is listed above under the bundled extensions.
