A fast, lightweight theme for page builders and the block editor.

== Description ==

Bevel is a clean, unopinionated foundation. It ships a small stylesheet, a self-hosted Inter webfont
and a set of block-editor defaults, then gets out of the way — there are no theme styles to fight
when you build a page.

It renders a complete site on its own, and serves every asset it uses from your own server: nothing
is fetched from anywhere else to draw a page, for you or for a visitor.

For a theme builder, popups, dynamic tags and the Bevel widgets, you want the free Bevel Kit plugin.
A bar at the top of the admin offers to install Elementor and Bevel Kit for you and does it without
leaving the page; pressing that button asks WordPress.org for the two plugins, which is the same
request Plugins → Add New makes. Nothing is asked of anyone until you press it, and dismissing the
bar is the end of it. You can install them by hand from the plugin directory instead.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does Bevel require a plugin? =

No. Bevel is a complete theme on its own. Bevel Kit adds site-building tools, and is optional.

= Does the theme send any data anywhere? =

No. It bundles its own fonts, stores no account state, and nothing it renders — for you or for a
visitor — is fetched from anywhere but your own server.

There is one request, and only you can start it: pressing "Install" on the setup bar asks
WordPress.org for Elementor and Bevel Kit, through WordPress's own plugin installer. That is the
same request Plugins → Add New makes, it carries nothing about you or your site beyond what
WordPress itself sends, and dismissing the bar means it never happens.

== Changelog ==

= 1.0.1 =
* Header menu: sub-menus are dropdowns on wide screens, opening on hover, on keyboard focus and with a button beside each parent item; deeper levels fly out beside their parent and open to the other side when there is no room. Escape closes the open sub-menu and returns focus to its button; a click outside closes it. On small screens each sub-menu folds away until its button opens it. Every menu level is shown.
* Long titles and other long words wrap inside their column instead of running out of it.

= 1.0.0 =
* Initial release.
* The posts index is titled after the page assigned to it, or carries no title, instead of "Archives".
* Stylesheet: form controls are dressed at zero specificity, so a page builder's own field styles always win and inputs and textareas match.
* Stylesheet: a normalize layer (form controls inherit the page font, buttons and selects keep their case, search and number inputs, legends, details, hidden elements, print styles), bare buttons and links styled the quiet way a page builder expects, and the theme's colour tokens re-read from Elementor's Global Colors when Elementor is on the site.
