A fast, minimal, dependency-free WordPress blog theme with block-editor support, translation-ready and built to current WordPress coding standards.

== Description ==

CTRSpace Lite is a clean, minimal blogging theme built for readability and speed. It has no bundled frameworks, no icon fonts and no jQuery dependency, and it makes no requests to outside services — just semantic HTML, a small stylesheet and standard WordPress APIs throughout.

**Features**

* Clean, minimal, fully responsive design
* Customizer options: accent color, text color, web-safe typography choices (no external font requests), a Grid/List blog layout switch, and an opt-in dark mode with a header toggle button for visitors
* Standard WordPress template hierarchy
* Widget-ready blog sidebar and footer widget area
* A "Full Width (No Sidebar)" page template
* Custom logo, custom background and custom navigation menu support (all via WordPress core)
* Full block editor (Gutenberg) support, with wide/full alignment and a matching color palette
* Eight ready-made block patterns (feature grid, call-to-action banner, stat highlight, pricing cards, FAQ list, intro heading, pull quote, latest posts grid) and three block styles, all built from core blocks
* Card-grid blog listing (home, category/tag/date archives and search results), an author bio card and a related-posts grid on single posts, and an estimated reading time next to the post date
* Threaded comments
* Translation-ready with a bundled .pot file

Need magazine and news homepage layouts, ad zone management with a self-learning position optimizer, first-party analytics and heatmaps, on-page SEO tools, or AI-assisted tagging and headline testing? Those live in CTRSpace, our commercial theme + companion plugin, available at https://www.ctrspace.com. CTRSpace Lite is a complete, standalone theme on its own — nothing here is disabled, limited, or gated behind that upgrade; it's simply a bigger product for publishers who want more.

== Installation ==

1. In your WordPress admin, go to Appearance > Themes > Add New.
2. Search for "CTRSpace Lite", or upload the theme zip via the Upload Theme button.
3. Click Activate.
4. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Options to set an accent color and typography, and Appearance > Customize > Menus to assign your Primary and Footer menus.
5. Go to Appearance > Widgets to add widgets to the Blog Sidebar and Footer Widgets areas.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does this theme require any plugins? =

No. CTRSpace Lite has no required or bundled plugins and no plugin-like functionality of its own.

= Does the theme load any fonts or scripts from a third-party service? =

No. Every font choice in the Customizer resolves to a font stack already installed on the visitor's device. The theme makes no requests to any third-party service, and collects no data.

= How do I show ads? =

Add a Custom HTML widget to the Blog Sidebar or Footer Widgets area (Appearance > Widgets) and paste in the ad code from your ad network, such as Google AdSense. The theme lays it out like any other widget. CTRSpace Lite has no ad management of its own; automatic in-content placement and ad optimization are part of CTRSpace.

= Where do I report a bug or request support? =

Please use the WordPress.org support forum for this theme.

== Changelog ==

= 3.5.1 =
* Product name updated to "CTRSpace" throughout — the Customizer panel, the Themes-screen notice and this readme — and every link now points at https://www.ctrspace.com/.
* Fixed the Theme URI: the address used by 3.5.0 returned a "page not found" error.
* New screenshot, taken from the theme itself: the card-grid blog listing with featured images, post meta and reading time, and the blog sidebar with search, an ad placement (a standard Custom HTML widget) and recent posts.
* Refreshed the readme: current description, the stable tag now matches the theme version, and tags match style.css. Removed a stray README.md file from the package.
* Regenerated the translation template (languages/ctrspace-lite.pot).
* Fixed: on a post that had been edited, the post date showed the published and updated dates run together ("October 12, 2026October 15, 2026"). Only the published date is shown now.
* Fixed: the categories, tags and comments links under each post ran together on one line; each now sits on its own line.

= 3.5.0 =
* Version number change only. The theme's code and features are the same as 2.5.0.

= 3.0.0 =
* Version number change only. The theme's code and features are the same as 2.5.0.

= 2.5.0 =
* Added a light/dark toggle button in the header (shown whenever "Enable dark mode" is on) so visitors can override the system setting for their own visit. The choice is remembered in the browser only (localStorage) — nothing is sent anywhere.

= 2.4.0 =
* Added a "Blog Layout" Customizer option: switch the home page/archive/search listing between the Grid (cards) default and the original compact List.
* Added an "Enable dark mode" Customizer checkbox: when turned on, the site follows the visitor's system light/dark setting. Off by default, and your accent color is unaffected either way.

= 2.3.0 =
* The blog listing (home, archives and search results) is now a responsive card grid instead of a plain stacked list.
* Added an author bio card at the end of single posts (only shown when the author has filled in a bio).
* Added a related-posts card grid (same category, up to 3 posts) at the end of single posts.
* Added an estimated reading time next to the post date, on both the blog listing and single posts.

= 2.2.0 =
* Added a "Latest posts grid" block pattern: a section heading followed by a Query Loop showing the three most recent posts as cards (featured image, title, date, excerpt) using the theme's Card block style.

= 2.1.0 =
* Added five new block patterns under the "CTRSpace Lite" pattern category: a three-column feature grid, a centered call-to-action banner, a highlighted stat layout, three-column pricing cards, and a simple FAQ list.
* Added a third block style, "Card" (core/group), used by the new pricing-cards pattern and available for any group block.

= 2.0.0 =
* Full rewrite. The theme has been rebuilt from scratch on current WordPress coding standards; no code is shared with 1.x.
* Removed the bundled Bootstrap and Font Awesome dependencies in favor of a small, dependency-free stylesheet — meaningfully faster page loads.
* Added block editor (Gutenberg) support: wide/full alignment, a matching editor color palette, and editor styles.
* Added a proper Customizer "Theme Options" section (accent color, text color, body/heading typography) with live preview.
* Consolidated widget areas from six (Menu widget + Sidebar + four Footer areas) down to two clearly-named areas (Blog Sidebar, Footer Widgets) laid out responsively.
* Added a "Full Width (No Sidebar)" page template.
* Fixed invalid/mismatched HTML structure present in 1.x markup.
* All output is now escaped and all settings sanitized per the WordPress Theme Review Handbook.
* Added an informational, dismissible "Upgrade to Pro" panel (Customizer) and admin notice (Themes screen only) linking to https://www.ctrspace.com. Purely promotional — no functionality is gated behind it.
* Version bumped from 1.5 to 2.0.0 to reflect that this is a full rewrite, not an incremental update.

= 1.5 =
* Last release of the original CTRSpace Lite codebase (1.x line).
