== Description ==

Modern responsive magazine and blog theme with full-site editing support, flexible layouts, and editorial styling.

== Theme Setup ==

= 1. Recommended plugin =

The magazine front page and the post-list widgets in the sidebar are built with
the free Flex Posts plugin:

  https://wordpress.org/plugins/flex-posts/

The plugin is optional. Without it the theme is fully functional: the sidebar
falls back to the core Latest Posts and Categories blocks, and the "Front Page
(Magazine)" pattern is not offered.

= 2. Set up the front page =

1. Go to Pages > Add New and create a page (e.g. "Home").
2. Change page template to "Page No Title"
3. In the editor, open the block inserter, switch to the Patterns tab and
   insert "Front Page (Magazine)".
4. Go to Settings > Reading, select "A static page", and set your new page as
   the Homepage.

= 3. Adjust the sections =

Each section on the front page pulls from recent posts. You can select a
section in the editor and change its Category setting to one of your own. The
section title can be linked to that category archive automatically, by activating
"Use category title" and "Use category URL" in the block setting.

= 4. Set a category color =

Each category can carry its own accent color. The theme uses it for the section
heading of a front page block set to that category, and for the category labels
shown on post cards and archives.

1. Go to Posts > Categories and edit a category (or add a new one).
2. Click the "Color" field and pick a color, then save.
3. Repeat for the other categories you use on the front page.

The color picker is added by the Flex Posts plugin, so this step needs the
plugin active. Categories left without a color simply use the accent color of
the active style variation.

= 5. Change the blog page design =

The blog page ships as a list of posts with a sidebar on the right, and the
theme includes twelve ready-made layouts you can swap in instead:

* Blog, list — with sidebar (left), with sidebar (right), or full width
* Blog, grid — 2 columns with sidebar (left or right), or 2, 3 and 4 columns
  full width
* Blog, masonry — 2 columns with sidebar (left or right), or 3 and 4 columns
  full width

To switch:

1. Go to Appearance > Editor > Templates.
2. Open the template your posts use. That is "Blog Home" when Settings >
Reading points the posts page at a page, and "Index" otherwise. The same
layouts are offered for "Front Page".
3. Click the Settings icon (top right) to open the sidebar, then open the
   "Design" panel.
4. Choose a layout and click Save.

Swapping a layout replaces the template content, so any edit you made to that
template by hand is lost. The number of posts per page comes from Settings >
Reading. The sidebar in these layouts is part of the template itself, so edit
it in the same template; the single post view and the magazine front page use
the separate "Sidebar" template part.
