A block theme for software companies and startups, built on the Core Forms design system.

== Description ==

Hassium is element 108, first made in a lab in Darmstadt a few atoms at a time. The theme is for small teams who build software the same way.

It opens on a hero with a soft brand glow and your product in a frame, sets headings in a quiet serif over a clean sans, and gives every section the pieces a software site needs: feature grids, a product tour, customer quotes, pricing tables, a changelog, a roadmap, questions and answers, and a closing call to action on a brand panel. The header is a frosted bar that stays at the top of the window, and one brand color marks everything you can click.

What you get:

* 12 templates. Four can be picked per post or page: a post without a featured image, a page without a title for landing pages, a page with wide content, and a blank canvas
* 8 template parts: a frosted sticky header, the same header under an announcement bar, a minimal header, a footer with four columns of links, a footer with a call to action, a minimal footer, a post byline, and comments
* 67 bundled patterns: 59 available in the inserter across ten groups (heroes, features, social proof, pricing, calls to action, content, full pages, post layouts, headers, and footers), plus 8 internal patterns used by the theme's templates
* A front page that shows a complete product landing page the moment you activate the theme, with nothing created in your database
* Six designs: Cobalt (the default), Iris, Verdigris, Ember, Graphite, and Midnight, a dark design. Three heading presets: Serif headings, Sans headings, and Serif display
* Section styles for a tinted band, a hero glow, a dark band, and a brand panel, where the last two turn everything inside them light on their own, plus three card styles. Block styles for kickers, announcement pills, badges, tags, checks, prices, checklists, numbered steps, screen frames, screenshots, icon tiles, portraits, ghost and text buttons, large and small button sets, post cards, and the frosted header
* Two bundled fonts, Inter and Hedvig Letters Serif, self-hosted and served from your own domain
* Four product screens, eight photographs, and 24 line icons made for the theme. The icons take on each design's brand color

Hassium registers no post types, no blocks, no shortcodes, and no settings page, and it ships no JavaScript of its own. Everything you build with it keeps working if you switch themes.

== Installation ==

1. In your WordPress admin, go to Appearance then Themes and click Add New.
2. Upload the zip, or search for Hassium, then click Install and Activate.
3. Open Appearance then Editor to set your site title, logo, menu, and design.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Why does my front page look like the theme demo? =

Hassium ships a Front Page template, so the front of your site gets a complete landing page as soon as you activate the theme. Nothing is created in your database and no settings change.

To change the words, open Appearance then Editor, go to Templates, and edit Front Page. To use a page you built yourself instead, delete that template, and WordPress falls back to your own page. The Hassium: Pages group has the same home page, and pricing, features, about, customers, changelog, and contact pages, to start from.

= How do I change the brand color? =

Open Appearance then Editor, then Styles. Pick one of the six designs, or open Colors and change the four brand colors: Brand for buttons and fills, Brand Strong for links and kickers, and Brand Tint and Brand Soft for the pale fills and borders. Keep Brand Strong dark enough to read as text. To recolor the line icons as well, change the Brand duotone in the same place.

= Which template goes with the full pages? =

The Hassium: Pages patterns open with their own hero, so give the page the Page, no title template in the editor sidebar. Otherwise the page title prints above the pattern's heading.

= Where do the changelog patterns get their entries? =

From posts in a category with the slug `changelog`. Until the site has one, those lists show your newest posts, so a fresh install is never empty.

= Why do colors change inside the dark band and the brand panel? =

Those two styles redefine the site's palette for everything inside them, so headings, text, links, borders, cards, and outline buttons all turn light together. Choose palette colors inside them rather than custom ones, and they will follow.

= Can I change the fonts? =

Yes. Open the Site Editor, go to Styles then Typography, and pick any font from the Font Library or upload your own. The heading presets under Styles switch between the bundled serif and sans.

= Does Hassium need a page builder or a block plugin? =

No. Every template, part, and pattern uses core blocks only.
