A professional, modern, lightweight portfolio theme for creators, freelancers, consultants, agencies, and WordPress professionals.

== Description ==

RDS Portfolio is a professional, Gutenberg-first WordPress theme built for creatives, freelancers, consultants, and digital agencies who want a premium portfolio presence without the bloat.

It ships with nine complete homepage sections (Hero, About, Portfolio, Services, Testimonials, Tech Stack, Stats, Blog, Contact), nine colour-style presets, full dark-mode support, accessible markup, AJAX portfolio filtering, and a rich Customizer experience — all in pure vanilla JavaScript with zero framework dependencies.

Key Features:

* Gutenberg-first: block patterns, wide/full alignment, theme.json global styles
* Nine ready-made colour palettes (Cobalt, Emerald, Crimson, Amber, Violet, Rose, Sky, Slate, Lime)
* System-font fluid typography using clamp() — no external font requests by default
* Accessibility essentials: skip links, ARIA landmarks, focus-visible styles, keyboard navigation, reduced-motion support
* Mobile-first responsive layout with an 8 px spacing system
* AJAX portfolio category filtering with smooth CSS transitions
* Live Customizer preview for hero text, social links, colours, layout, and more
* Conditional asset loading — scripts and styles only load where needed
* Semantic HTML5 landmarks throughout all templates
* Translation-ready with a .pot file included
* WCAG 2.1 AA colour-contrast compliant defaults
* Performance-optimised: deferred JS, lazy-loaded images, preconnect hints
* SEO-ready structure with schema-friendly markup

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= How do I set up the portfolio section? =
Create posts and assign them to a custom "Portfolio" category. In the Customizer under Portfolio Settings, select that category. The front-page portfolio section will automatically display those posts in a filterable grid.

= How do I enable dark mode? =
The theme respects the visitor's OS-level prefers-color-scheme setting automatically. You can also add the class `rds-color-dark` to the `<body>` element via a JavaScript toggle or the Customizer dark-mode option.

= Can I use a custom Google Font? =
Yes. The Customizer includes a Typography section where you can enable Google Fonts. The theme dequeues them by default for performance.

= Is the theme translation-ready? =
Yes. All strings are wrapped in the `rds-portfolio` text domain and a .pot file is included in the /languages folder.

= Does this theme require a page builder? =
No. RDS Portfolio is designed to work with the native WordPress block editor (Gutenberg). No third-party page builders are required or supported.

= Where can I find block patterns? =
Go to the block editor and search the Pattern inserter. Patterns provided include Hero, Portfolio Grid, Services, Testimonials, CTA Banner, and Contact.
