Genericons

Automattic (WordPress parent organization) has apparently discontinued supporting Genericons used by Weaver Xtreme. Instead, they are supporting a new version called Genericons Neue which do not include social icons.

Weaver Xtreme will continue to support Genericons for the foreseeable future to maintain backward compatibility. As always, the font definition files for Genericons is always added by Weaver Xtreme as they are used in several places by the theme (e.g., Post Formats).

You can add a genericon anywhere in you content by adding a <span> class="genericon genericon-iconname> in your content. You may have to use the Text view to add that.

For example, to display the Twitter icon (), add <span class="genericon genericon-twitter"><span> to your content. Use the following table to get the name of each Genericon. You can also add in-line styling to the <span> to control styling. For example, the above Twitter example was generated using: <span class="genericon genericon-twitter" style="font-size:20px;margin-right:0px;"></span>
